Any Jeep Clubs in the Cedar Rapids, IA area?

Also a CR guy here, I've already met up with klimb2xs (Awesome guy! my rear track bar is bent and he just gave me his stock one that he had lying around)

The best I've been able to hope for is my parents 6 acres out by Urbana that me n my dad drive around sometime... There is a pile of rocks, and the back gets muddy each spring. It's better than nothing I guess!

Definitely always looking to find fellow jeepers around!

just a bump I wanted to keep an eye on this one.

I live east of CR about 45 Min. It would be nice to get something going on this side of the state. We should start a club and see about buying some land. I think thats how some others clubs have done it. I have eleven acres but the wife wont let me touch it (BECAUSE ITS FOR THE HORSES) Dam hay burners.

I've been to both The Cliffs and The Badlands with my near stock XK. The Cliffs is a bit more extreme than the Badlands. With the XK I was way more comfortable at the Badlands.

Buddy's got it right, Badlands has just about everything while Cliffs has mud and trees. Also the last time we went to the cliffs they were kind of enforcing the 110" wheelbase rule they have and it was really muddy. When we went last Nov. it was pretty dry.

There are a couple of IA City / Cedar Rapids guys in JOCCI. The property that the club wheels on is in the Pella/Knoxville area, so although the monthly meetings are in DSM, wheeling isn't too terribly far from IA City.

Just FYI...

There is another club based out of Des Moines called Syndicate 4x4. This club is made up of the more hardcore type rigs from Iowa. If I remember right you need at least 35” tires and must be locked up front and rear to join.

Even though some of you guys are a ways from Des Moines (where JOCCI is based out of) don’t be afraid to hop on the JOCCI forum. There is always a group of guys planning some sort of adventure in Iowa or some other state.

I just stumbled across the Iowa Association of 4wd clubs. It looks like they might have a few clubs for you guys out east. ia4wdc.org. I'm in Sioux City, if anyone knows anywhere closer than Omaha, let me know. I've been to Timber Ridge in Castana a few years back, but I'm pretty sure thier membership is expensive, no day passes either.

For the most part, you can wheel whenever as long as there are three other Jeeps along (safety in numbers). There are exceptions since it is someone else's private land and they let us use it so the final word is always up to them. The landowner doesn't usually have any problem with us being there but he is always called before we go so we know for sure it is ok.

Hi guys! Does anyone know of any public land to off road in central Iowa? I used to run the two rivers area near van meter as that is public land but was gated off when I went out there Saturday. I also used to run the trails at 63rd and grand in Des Moines which I beleive is also public but has been gated off for years. Anyone ever been to two rivers or know whats up with that? The farm at JOCCI looks a little more advanced than I want to do.....

Im not looking to break the law but would like somewhere to go that is pretty easy and off the beaten path. I would be happy to run a few muddy b level roads even.....

Any tips?
