So I picked up a camper that a friend and I share. I have to drop it off at the RV place across the street to get a gear replaced in the lifting mechanism.

So yeah, 33's, stock gears, plus pulling a camper....lol123. It didn't do bad, but it was yet another pleasant reminder that I need to get some gears ASAP....that's even with a 2.5L with only 6k miles. hehe.

Yeah, I really wasn't planning on hauling the pop-up with the Jeep, but I had to get it yesterday, and it was the only vehicle I have left with a hitch...for now. :)

My buddy and I share the pop-up...I will have to work on him regarding him letting me lift the pop-up. lol.

I plan on getting 4.88 gears and a locker for the front here fairly soon. I think once I get gears, pulling that thing with the Jeep won't be an issue. It really wasn't bad the way it is now, just lose a bit of speed on slight inclines.

i think 4.88 is a bit to much i have 4.56 with 35's and that seems a bit much you may want to go with something lower, ask when you go to buy gears wht they would recomend i think a 33 should be around a 4:11 and remember if your going up over 3:55 you need to replace your cariers for them to work

He has a 4 cyl, our gutless motors come with 4:10's stock so we don't need to replace the carriers when regearing :)

Also, 4:88's for the 4 cyl is perfect. Best money I ever spent on my YJ. I've towed a fair amount of times with mine, the heaviest load being a 10 foot? u-Haul when I was moving home from Tahoe. Definitely had to ring her out going up grades but on the highway she held 65 no problem :2thumbsup:

Well I really want to drop a GM LSX engine in it, however, I really hate to rip out a brand new 2.5L as well as 5-speed tranny, with only 6,000 miles on them. So my four angry squirrels are going to be my guinea pigs for a megasquirt fuel injection setup. I figure it would be hard to hurt the 2.5L during tuning with a naturally aspirated setup. Then I will probably throw an HX30 Holset turbo I have laying on the shop floor (I worked in Holset Turbocharger Engineering for a while), just to see what it can do...theeeen it will be V8 time. :D

Might as well play with the stuff I have laying around first.

No worries. :cool:

Looks like I am selling my dirt bike....which means that money is going into the "testosterone fund". :thumbsup:

Basically means that money received from selling one cool toy, must be distributed to another cool toy....which means I am getting 4.88s, power steering with the Durango box, and MAYBE a locker for the D30.

:2thumbsup::cheers2::2thumbsup:
