Has anybody been to the Jamboree at Penn Woods?

My son and I took the XJ back in '06. We had a great time, the first night we were there it rained like hell which made the trails at least one number harder than normal. Had to be strapped four different times over the course of two days (twice in mud, twice on rocks). On the plus side there were three different obstacles where other drivers got stuck that we went right through. It's nice when you get through a tough obstacle and the other drivers are standing around cheering you on. Of all the events we have done I probably learned more that weekend than any other. The trail guides were great and really knew their stuff. In fact the whole event staff were great.

When we went the price included breakfast a packed lunch for on the trail and dinner, I think (we chose to hit a couple of local places for dinner the first two nights). In addition it was based at a local college campus and we stayed in dorms so there were no hotel cost. There were several hotels in the area if you chose to go that route. Overall it cost the two of us less at the Jamboree than when we go to Camp Jeep.

I signed up yesterday; stayin' in a Pitt-Bradford dorm room!

Best part is my son, outta the blue yesterday says "I wish we could go to a Jamboree thing..." So of course I'm not gonna tell him until it's go time.

Hope it's rainy till we get there. Rescue Green looks good with a side of mud.

I'm in Kitchener; guess I'll see you in PA.

One question for you...my '07 Sahara is bone stock mechanically, and I'm a newbie to offroading. Am I going to be limited to the 'light' trails or will I be allowed to run the 5-6 rated ones -- at least graduate to them by the last run?

I really have no idea what to expect but it'll be nice to run some trails legally...especially with pros around for direction and advice. I drool at the site of the muddy housing development right behind my house. Too bad it's on a major road or...well, I'd probably get stuck there!

I just signed up Yesterday for this event. I will be taking my stock 06 Liberty. I have never been to this event or any other Jamboree for that matter. Can someone explain the trails, their ratings and obstacles.

What is the highest level trail I can take with a stock Liberty with 245/70-16 Grabbers, all the mopar skids, and mopar rock rails? I want a real challenge but this is my daily driver and I do not want to do any serious damage (some cosmetic is Ok, I already have a good dent from a deer hit last year).

With a stock liberty that has rock rails and skid plates, you can do up to the medium rated trails with maybe a tug here and there.

Myself and 2 friends are bringing our Jeeps down this year for the first time. I wanted to ask Mud Pig, in regards to the full size spare requirement, does it have to be matching or as long as the size is the same is that good? I currently am running 31x10.5 Interco Trxus M/Ts that are fairly new, but not new enough to start doing a 5 tire rotation now. I know my next set of tires are going to be BFG Mud Terrains, so I was going to get a 31x10.5 BFG in anticipation of that so I can start doing a 5 tire rotation next set of tires. SO, my question is, will I get throuhg tech as long as my spare is the same size even though the tread pattern is different? thanks, and I am really looking forward to the Jamboree!

You may want to get in contact with Bob, 08killerb. He is staying at willow bay as well if I remember correctly. He has a yellow '08 2dr rubicon on 35" ssr's. Very good guy. Have fun out there!
