I got my first Jeep about a month ago, I have been reading the site since. The 2.5 never has overwhelmed me with power  but now it wont hardly pull itself. It idles okay and when you rev it slowly but when it gets to about 4grand it misses and drops doen to about 2,500. When pulling itself it win't rev above 2,000rpm and has a top spedd of about 40. I changed the fuel filter, dist. cap, rotor, and plugs. That didn't change anything. It is running about 30lbs of fuel pressure at idle and 40 revved, I don't see a drop when it starts missing. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance for any help, Seth

Cycle the key from off to ignition on(the cluster turns on) then off again 3 times. The CEL light will blink if you have done it correctly. Here is a good explanation

Thanks for the help guys, I finally got it figured out. The catalytic converter was bad, the crap inside was broken loose and had plugged the exhaust. I just drilled a 2" hole in it and pulled everthing out. Not it sounds like one of them damn rice-burners gotta get that hole welded back lol
