I have a build thread going in YJ tech but figured I'd throw up an overview of what I have done here.

Made the 1100km trip to get it home

Striped it down, bed liner and got rid of the roof/doors. Finally get to have a non dd jeep and taking full advantage of it

waiting for my wheels to come in and decided to test fit the 33" spare I had

pretty tight, time to get the sawzall out

quick coat of bed liner on the exterior

and after 3 weeks my 33x13.5 LTBs on allied bead locks finally showed up

testing it out (need some new shocks as they are limiting droops, other then that its on the bump stops with no rubbing)

Winch/bikini/half doors (good Christmas haul)

and having some fun on an easy shakedown run

As of now I have about $6500 into it ($2500 for the jeep, $1000 to get it on the road, $2200 for wheels, $700 for bikini/half doors/winch/snatch block/wireless remote, and lots of odds and ends)

Future plans for this coming season are
- front and rear bumper (fronts sitting in front of me, rears almost done being built)
- front lockright

over the next season or two
- 8.8 (hopefully)
- regear
- cage
- 35s after the LTB's die

heres a little info on the winch, I love it and you can't beat the price/customer service.

I'm taking full advantage of the economy to buy parts cheap and on sale. Its a budget build right now due to trying to save for a house due to their awesome prices right now :2thumbsup:

I love seeing budget rigs.

Me and a buddy did this one for aorund $1,500 (sorry to clutter your overview thread. thought you might like to see)

Unfortunately the only before pictures i have were taken to sell the doors i apologize.
Nice build, $1500 total? Looks like mines not so budget anymore lol

Yeah the big difference is in the cost of the jeep i think. I originally bought it for 500 bucks scored the top and doors and sold him what's left for 250. (neeless to say we had to plate the frame and do some rust repair) :2thumbsup:

Not bad, I got mine for $2500 (sold top, doors, and stock wheels for $800) and then put about $1000 into it to get it on the road (normal stuff, u joints, steering shaft, etc).

i wish i could sell the doors and top.... the top is still on the front lawn and it and the doors have been on and off craigslist for 3 months.... i'm only asking 400 for the top and 285 for the doors.... both in mint condition. i thought the doors would go quik atleast. i've seen a pair on ebay for like 500 bucks!

I sold my top for $250, doors for $250 and wheels for $300 (all to the same guy). Might be easier for you to sell them if you hang on to them until the end of summer/start of fall. More people looking for hard top and hard doors.

Its duplicolor bed liner. It said to just lightly sand and did not need to be primed. Guess they were wrong. Going to paint it in the summer when its warmer out or maybe have it done with line-x
