We now have our 2.5 inch lift kit out for the Jeep TJ. It consist of four progressive rate coils, four 2.2 performance shocks and t case spacers.

This kit retails at 299.95 but when you call me and mention being a jeepforum.com member you will recieve 10% off.

I will have video up shortly of how good the coils work.

Glad to hear it. That sounds promising. Let us know how they look after they settle in a little.

After my install on saturday, I took a look at the pictures and I got just over 3". I had a 3" BL on the rig already...so I measured...then installed the SL and measured... 3". The jeep rides great. I have to tweak the alignment a little since I get a little wander on the roads. By rear axle shifted about 1/4" or so.

No vibes, but I did get a lot of transfer lever binding since the PO had a humongous drop bracket on already

I completed the install of my RC 2.5 on the front end last weekend and will do the rear in a week or two when I have time.

I pulled out 2.25 inch spacers and my stock springs with 56K miles on them.

I gained exactly 1.5 inches over my old spring and spacer combo so I figure I had some spring sag going on.

The space between the Rubicon LJ flare and tire now reads exactly 6 inches which is up from the original 4.5.

No pics required... I can read a tape measure too.

The shocks are way better than that Skyjack 7000s they replaced. They are about twice as heavy (more oil I figure) and have a much larger piston.

The ride is already vastly improved.

Way to re-invent yourself RC. You did good! :)

quick question on the shocks, whats the rate of travel are they 2-4 in, cuz im thinkin on doin this kit and putin 3/4in or 1 1/4in coil spacers on as well, will i need different shocks?!

OK, which of you guys got the steering stabilizer with the lift kit and is it really worth it? I see they offer two stabilizers; what are the differences and is it worth getting the cheaper of the two? I'm not running huge tyres and I don't think I ever will - I'm on 30" now and probably won't go bigger than 31" - but I PM'ed Jeffery and he still recommended getting the stabilizer.

I recommend it for two reasons...
First, it is super cheap, since it just came out. I would see the price going up in a few weeks/months. You will barley see any on-road improvement from this contraption, it works hardest when you are off road, and you get into a rut or bounce off a rock that yanks the steering wheel out of your hands, that is what this stabilizer prevents, or slows down.

Second, it just looks more subtle, therefore cooler, in my opinion. Dark Gray vs WHITE. Unless you have a white jeep, then you may be ok with the hydro.

There is a pic of it mounted in my writeup.

well my stock steering stabilizer was black on my black jeep, and so were my shocks ... i did order the stabilizer along with the shocks, which are all a light grey with red stickers on them .. that being said, i wouldn't say it is more subtle, but yes i would say it looks better .. as for if it works better or not, i don't know, i put everything on in the same day, so i didn't drive it with 33's and the stock stabilizer (likewise i didn't drive on my 30's with the rc stabilizer) .. and i don't know how much space i have between my tire and flare, but i bet if i only had 31's and a 2 or 3 inch body lift with this, im sure it would be over 6 inches. that's something to think about before you start calling people babycakes.

Spent about the last hour off and on going through thread and I really like the looks of this kit.

Can anyone with an 03-06 with D44 and a 6 speed comment on vibes (not Rubi's or LJ's)? I've got the MML and BL and it's just nowhere in my budget right now to do an SYE and drive shaft. And I'm picky so even vibes on take off would annoy me into having to do the SYE. But I need some more lift, I stuff my 32's to easily with my 1.75" Skyjacker spacers and BL.

Jeffrey at RC sent me the 2.2 Steering Stabilizer with my order of the 2.5" SL and 1.25" BL. He cut me the JF.com discount and shipped it all for $410. My stock stabilizer was hell to get off and I ended up snapping one of the bolts on it when I took it off.

Hey guys, kinda new here, but I've been reading up on here for months, everyone else asks and answers my questions...just wanted to put in some info on this one... I finally gave in and got the kit for my 04. I got the 1.25 body lift, 2.5" suspension, and the 2.2 stabilizer. Havent been offroading with it yet though so Iunno how good it works...so far everything was smooth sailling on the lift and is riding great!!

Looking at the Transfer Case Drop Instructions (photo #2 in particular) in the link provided by easytim, is it at all possible not to use those pucks? It looks like the transmission skid plate is pretty much dropped down to where it was before the lift. :( I can appreciate that the transmission is attached to the drivetrain and the drivetrain didn't move, because it's below the lift, but I was just wondering...

This kit is awesome!! i got it over the summer and it rides really great

Just ordered my kit with the stablizer today! Wish I'd jumped on this while Jeff was offering some of the better deals (still a deal at $330 shipped w/stabilizer).

I'm already running JKS discos and 1.25" BL & MML with 265/75R16 TrXus MT tires (31.6") on my '05 Rubicon. I'll post before and after photos soon. I'm going to install my Currie HD steering at the same time.

TJ wrangler, nice looking jeep, how do you like the tires, are the loud?
32x11.50x15 are $170 a piece on sell right now....
I really like the looks of those tires....I have seen a set of 35's on an old chevy....
The T/A that is carved in the side biters is really cool looking as well.

Is that a 15x8 rim?

Sorry for all the questions
Clay

Put a few miles on my newly installed kit. How do you get rid of the 1" lean on the pass side. Hoping the new kit would correct this.

#854 ·
To TJwrangler04, nice look on the TJ. Is that just the 2.5 lift on its own or do you have the BL also? One more question, any spring spacers in your setup?

#856 ·
Thanks man! Its just the 2.5 lift but i do have 3/4 spacers up front to level it out a little..no BL

#857 ·
Well, I went ahead and ordered my 2.5 lift/BL combo yesterday morning with the stabilizer, MML and 3/4" spacers for the front. Should see it next week. Planning on running 285's on the Moabs. Can hardly wait.

Thanks to everyone here for all their informative post.

Happy Thanksgiving!
