Well, I am not from WI. But, the Jeep Jamboree I went on was sponsored and the trails built by WOHVA. Seemed like a great group - pretty big - had members from all over the state.
I see a lot of jeeps every single day so I'm very surprised there arent more. but on the other hand I dont know of anywhere to go wheeling around here. the best I have is tooling around on some unimproved dirt roads which is kinda fun but no challenge whatso ever.
There are hardly any organized Jeepers down here. There are a bunch up north, but not around Dane County. Would anyone be interested in starting a little group down here for southern Wisconsin? Nothing serious, but something so that we had a bit of Jeep community that we didnt have to drive 5 hours to get to.
I'm a member of Legendary Civilian Jeepers (www.lcjs.org) but aside from the monthly club meeting being in Madison this month, everything happens at least 3 hours north, if not more.
I'd be down for a get together about once a month or something and go wheeling around. I know there is one in th eMilwaukee area. I think its SE 4x4 but I'm not sure.
STALLIS!!!!
That is West Allis for those of you not around here. Pretty much nothing in SE WI unless you know someone with land and a good sense of humor. I am heading to the cliffs in November, nearest and good wheelin. 2 or 3 hours drive depending on time of day from milwaukee. (it is in Illinois)http://www.thecliffsinsaneterrain.com/index.html
haha I work on Greenfield Ave just off 894. And I'll be in town this weekend. So if you see a stock red XJ with a big S sticker on it for smith optics its me.
Milwaukee here too... I'm a senior engineering student at the Milwaukee School of Engineering - originally from Appleton, WI area.
The SE WI group sounds like a great idea that was mentioned in this thread... It'd be nice to have a group of guys to do some local riding with. But, like already mentioned, I'm not sure the amount of trails real close...
I was just thinking the other day, anybody know of any good dirt road stretches or other lesser-developed public roads just to get out on a ride and enjoy some fall color? Beautiful time of the year to be on a dirt road...
My brother went to MSOE for a while but then switched things up.
Not dirt roads but the southern unit of the kettle moraine by Eagle is a great place to go enjoy the colors. Take 94 west and 67 south and then just puts around on the roads. These were my stomping grounds when i was in high school.
