I hope someone can help me with this problem. I have a 91 Wrangler. The defrost/heat lever will not remain in the OFF position. It is kinda spongey. If you force it over to OFF, it kinda springs/slides back over to defrost. Of course in this condition, the defrost wants to run all the time. The only solution so far is to run it in vent, but that is a problem when it is cold. Does anyone know off an adjustment to fix this? I am not wanting to pull the unit since I have an A/C unit under the dash.
Thanks!

How about pulling the control out and checking all the cables. There are keepers on the cable where it attach's to the controls, sometimes these come off. Also look on the underside and make sure no wires are pushing it back. Oh, you have AC, all this is going to be behind the AC unit, except for the controller of course. Something is interfering with the movement, find that.
I'm gonna put new carpet in this week, guess I'm gonna have to remove the seats and just fiddle with it. Thanks
