Alright I started this post so I can get a feel of what you guys think about our YJ kits, I know that in the past we had leaf spring problems but we have gone to a different manufacturer and they are giving us a much better quality spring. Let me hear the good, the bad, the ugly. I want to be the link that will let us know what the YJ community thinks we could improve and what you want in a kit.

Feel Free to email me at ans@roughcounty.com or rchase@roughcountry.com:thumbsup:

Rough Country,

why did you guys dis-continue the 3" kit for the YJ?? I cant see that not being a popular kit for the average off roader/daily driver set up.

just wondering

thanks

Thanks for answering RC about the SOA. Thats what i figured your response would be but never hurts to ask. Any plans in the future to make and SOA spring to compete with RE?

4" springs for a SOA anyway?!?!?!?!?!?! RC mentioned a new 1.5 inch spring kit thats what i was talking about Martin. Your exactly right 4in spring would be CRAZY. lol

I just found something out recently that helped my ride out. I installed a black diamond lift kit and followed the directions to the "t" which means I torqued the shackle bolts down to 95/105 ft/lbs. I found out from another discussion on here that people are running way lower torque's on their shackles. I lowered mine down to 45 lbs shackle side and 55 lbs frame side and used blue locktite with my nylock nuts. Ride has improved a ton for me, may be worth checkin out for you.

Here is the other thread where we discussed this:

I just installed my 4" kit this past weekend. It was a beyatch to install. I love the finished product but man was it a pain in the you know what to install, especially seeing as I was missing half the sleeves, bolts, and missized nuts. All is well though seeing as I called RC today and got new hardware overnighted to me. Should be here tomorrow. Talk about customer service. Even if the springs crap out I am still confident it this company. Thanks RC.

i was missing a couple sleeves and some hardware too. seems like it could be a great kit if a little more quality control was put into it. my sleeves were to small (inner diameter) for my bolts, so i had to run a drill bit through them until i could just slide the bolt through. was missing a few nut/bolt sets, and had to get a little creative with a few things. it looks great, just rides rough and is destroying my rear shock. im going to try to torque the shackles properly and see if that helps the rough ride

My sleeves were missized also. I had to run an old shackle bolt in a couple of the frame rail mounts to mount the leaf springs. Just as you stated though. Would be a great kit with a little more QC. HINT HINT RC: Start checking what is leaving your doors a little closer. Its the small stuff that costs you business. Just my 2 cents though.

My current concerns: I'm watching for sag and/or uneven tilt... I'm a bit concerned as I write this.....

MY kit was professionally installed as well as ordered through [the installer].
I paid the extra for the pro install to ensure warranty accountability; so my question to RoughCountry....
I shouldn't have ANY problems with regard to replacements IF I need, right?
I am your direct link to the manufacture as long as you have proof you are the original purchaser I will take care of you. I hope that was the question you wanted answered sorry I missed it.

Rough Country Kits

I have used Rough Country kits for many years and I can tell you guys from first hand experience, that the Rough Country kits are by far the best that I have found for the money and for the quality of the components in the kits. I have used them on the streets and I have bashed them offroad and I have never had a problem with the function or the quality of their kits. As far as the ride, I have riden and driven many different off road rigs and the flex and comfort of the springs are second to none. I realize that everyone has a preference, but from my experiences those guys are top notch!!! I will never use anyone else for my road rigs or my trail beaters.

FYI......You can also overtighten the spring bolts!! So be careful when tightening the bolts because that will make your ride a little rougher due to the poly bushings.

I will also say this. Who do you see more of actually on the trail with their rigs. The last couple of off road events that I have been to, the guys from Rough Country have been there with their rigs. They were not just sitting around, they were on the trail with their rigs. I have not seen another company that takes such an interest in our off road lifestyle. IF you have a problem, these guys listen. So we all need to give them some props for having the b@!!s to ask us what we think as offroaders.

Thanks guys for listening to us.

no i doesnt come with new shackle bolts, you got to use your old ones. that sucks you had to cut them off. i sprayed them with pb blaster, than hit them with an air hammer and they popped out. that was just for the frame side of the spring, the shackle side slid right out

i have the 4'' RC kit on my 95 wrangler. when i first installed it it held up ok. now the rear springs are really sagging bad. when i just hit road bumps the tires hit the fenders. i have taken it on the beach a lot but no significant wheeling that would kill the springs. i was curious if the springs are covered under warranty.

Ok I just got out of a quality control meeting on this kit and we pulled one off the shelf and went through every sleeve, bolt, bushing ect. and they were all right, the people who got wrong hardware must have been one out of the 3 or 4 that were sent out. We strive to have 100% accuracy but unfortunately a few will slip through the cracks. If you ever receive a kit and you are missing hardware make sure to call 1-800-222-7023 and we WILL take care of you.

That right there is exactly why I bought your product. That is top of the line CS. Great job RC!!!!! Keep up the good work.

PS. I got the second hardware bags today. Have not checked them yet but will this weekend and will definitely let you know when I do.
Thanks
