just thought it would be a neat idea if someone could start a thread with only pics and info on home mods. write-ups wouldn't have to be included but a link to one would be nice if it is available. if someone likes the idea, start it up!

Double Din Wrangler

I saw someone post they made their Wrangler hold a double din screen, and the work looks real good, but I noticed they took out their A/C vents. Where I live it is too hot/cold to lose any vents. I posted this before but my photos got messed up. Living in Texas, the heat has cracked my fiberglass work around the corners a little. So I will take it out and redo it soon. If anyone wants me to do a write up on how to do it I will when I repair mine.

I forgot to take any pictures, but i made a decent hard-top storage cart today. I decided i didn't want to pay 160$+ for a square frame of wood or tubing with wheels, so i spent about 30$ for wood and hardware and made my own, even covered it with soft felt so as not to scratch the top. Looks decent and works like a charm!

behind the stereo is a plastic piece that divides it from the a/c controls. the best way i figured was to cut the trim ring to double din first and then trim the inside accordingly if that makes sense. the opening for double din is more narrow than OEM so i backed it with wood and coated it in bondo. sanded it out and sprayed it with oem match paint. as you can see i have to re-fiberglass it.

yep they work now and look very nice, i love the look n idea but is moving the filter to under the hood worth it EVERY time it starts to rain?

hah i understand that, but couldnt u probably do some sort of cover over the filter, like the scoop on the aftermarket ones, so the rain wont cause it to suck in the water, you also get the best of both worlds, a nice high intake, and you dont have to move it when it rains

(edit) for sake of the thread i made a Cb antenna mount, nothin new but it works, i also made plans for my own snorkle which ive been gathering parts for

Yea, I put my double din screen and got rid of the center vents... now the two sides blow harder.

(Excuse the img quality, my phone camera sucks)

This is a 1999 TJ 4.0 6cyl which will soon house a Hemi engine. It was redone a few years ago. Currently it has a hardtop. Tons of mods. Too much to list. This was the one that was given me all the headaches. I finally got those headaches under control. Thank God and this forum for the help.
