I currently own 2 XJ's, but was thinking about getting a Liberty. I was just wondering if anyone has lifted any yet and what all it entails? I'm affraid to ask this in the xj forum for fear of being laughed at I think I'm the only person out there who has 2 built up Cherokees and looking into KJ's.
Thank. I guess you're the one to ask. I'm wondering how well the IFS holds up to offroading after the lift? This would be a daily driver, with maybe a rear locker, some 31's and nothing much more except some body protection. So I won't be doing anything too difficult.

I have been doing anything to difficult.!!
and the front IFS works great..
Not quite as well as a SFA.. but you just have to learn to drive a little differently..
You don't attack obstacles the same way..
I have taken mine to Moab at least 5 times, maybe more..
Done all the difficult trails there except for Prichett Canyon..
I've done Golden Spike twice.. ( I did break my transfer case the last time..)
Moab Rim
Hells Revenge
Metal Masher
Steel Bender
Cliffhanger
Poison Spider (totally stock.)
and quite a few others..
Doing "Hole in the Rock" on Memorial Day weekend..
Don't forget a tranny skid.. www.boulderbars.com makes the strongest..
(The one with the 'outriggers'..)
Question.... Do you find the handling on the road not to be as good once it's lifted? My 2002 Liberty Limited is my daily driver but my 245/75/16 BF Goodrich AT's rub some on tight turns and I was thinking of lifting it to cure this. I also like the looks of the ARB bull bar which I understand adds a bit of weight to the front too. I wanted to just put a brush guard on but would have to do away with my tow hooks for that.
Any helpful, positive comments would be appreciated.

I actually prefer the handling now..
I am not sure which is responsible, the tires or the lift, but
the ride tightened up just a bit.. It is perfect now..
This is with the COMBO lift..
The OTT gets soft after a while, and the full puc never does..
Wait until www.boulderbars.com releases their front bumper..(after EJS.)
You might like that design better than ARB, and with much less weight..
......... some pics of it..
My 2005 Jeep Liberty has had some occasional problems starting since I purchased it in 2009. The vast majority of the time it starts up just fine, but every once in awhile, it just doesn't quite want to turn over all the way. It'll be almost there, but it just doesn't want to start. It typically happens when the car is warm (i.e. has been driven for 30-45 minutes and then left to sit for 20 minutes), and when I turn the key it just doesn't start (it WANTS to, it just doesn't quite get there). Usually, if I try a few times and turn the key extra hard and maybe give it some extra gas, it will start up. Every time I have taken it to a mechanic, I've mentioned this problem, and they'll try to figure out the issue, but they are never able to get it act up. My gas mileage has taken a major nosedive over the last few months as well. I'm not sure if they're related issues, but figured I should mention it. Any ideas?
