I am looking for pictures of the Arizona Rocky Road CB Mounts. I also would like to know if you like it, or would not buy it again.

I have been looking at it for a while and can not decide if I want one.

I'm trying to decide if I should order one of these as well. I'd like to mount my gps up there on the left side. Do you know the dimensions of the bar? And if there are pre drilled holes on the left side?

Here is the mount I'd use so that you could see where the screws are...

Thanks

I seriously doubt there would be any pre-drilled holes on the left side where you want to mount your gps bracket. Just drill your own.

yes the coax and the power run in the frame. there is a hole in the side of the frame that faces the windshield. like i said earlier he supplies some extra wire for the power, rubber grommet for the hole in the frame, some ty-raps and other stuff that you might or might not need for the install. very impressed with the mount and accessories that came with in. i recommend the product for sure.

thanks for the comp mojeeper, it's a cobra 29 chrome edition.

Here are some pictures of it before install...

Wire hole

Both ends are open to run wire + my hairy arm

Once it warms up i'll work on rewiring the inside so that I can mount this! :)

Got it installed last night. Only hard part was getting the self tapping screws to go in! I dont have door surrounds on at the moment, so i slid some rubber grommets along the side pins to keep it even. Overall very pleased with the product. I'll post some more pictures of the install later :)

Has anyone tried this with a Safari or Bikini top. Does it get in the way of the center strap on the top that runs from the windshield loop and the roll bar?

Update:

Got my new jeep and installed the ARR radio mount.. I used the door frame knobs as anchor points and let me tell you these knobs are very poorly designed, the M8 bolt shank is splined into the plastic knob and as soon as you apply some torque, the clamping load wil undo the splined joint..

I replaced these OEM knob bolts with a SS M8 (80mm long) and a SS fender washer.

Also once you use these mounting points, one might slot out the mounting bar holes.. This will allow clearance for the soft top front latches to operate fully extended..
Be sure you dry fit the radio's before making it permanent.. The sunvisors will define the location..

I wanted to install the mount bar as far forward as possible without any interference..

I will update this post with pictures once all is hooked up, including the two antennas..

Just a note for anybody pondering installing this mount. I specified that I have a hard top. My bar goes straight across and doesn't have the 90deg. offsets at the ends. The ends can't bolt to the door frame knob screws because the hard top uses that hole for a locater pin that drops into it for positioning the freedom top. The instructions suggest drilling a hole straight through the roll cage behind the locator hole and use the bolts supplied. I didn't want the nut sticking down below the roll bar so instead, I drilled and tapped a hole on the top using the same size as the bolt that holds the door frame. I also used a nylon washer between the mounting bar and the roll bar to compress and prevent any rattling. The bar doesn't have to be super tightened. I tightened only enough to compress the split lock washer. I mounted my CB, and ham radio up there. I will be adding a speaker when I get a chance to do more wiring in the spring. Too busy skiing right now to do the wiring...and too cold as well.

is that tube a 2" x 1" x 1/8th inch?
or is it is that a 3" x 1" x 1/8th inch?

Anyone know? Its looking to me like a 2" ...
Also, does it flex/bounce up and down when you hit potholes or is it sturdy as can be?
I got my answer:

Thanks for asking. It is solid. Made of 16 guage 1.5" x .75" tube steel with 1/8" x 1.5" mounting brackets. It can handle whatever you want to put on it, and NO IT WON'T WOBBLE. As a matter of fact, if you have your top down, your passengers will find it a convenient pull bar to stand up and get some wind in the hair.
