I will start with # 1. Please PM me to get a # and if you want post somethin bout an experience in the air force or post pics of some places you have visited. Thanks

My current plan is to talk to a recruiter this summer about OCS and pilot slots; I'll have my degree in '09.

Any officers on here? How did you get your commission? Do you like what you do?
I did ROTC. In Nav training right now. I would like to be up front, but I can always hope for cross-training!

Hey Brfertig:

You in slicks, or what? My dilemma is do I want to see the world, or my family? Right now I'm leaning toward EWO on B-52's.

I am on the Herks a "slick" is an older E model with the smaller intakes. We have those too. I am really close to my Navs. Great Job and lots of fun but you will be gone a lot. about 180+ days a year.

My wife is very understanding and if your family doesnt back you up its not for you. Just my .02

I think all the cargo navs just call 'em slicks here. I haven't had anyone point out that difference. Are your trips for a few weeks or a few months at a time? I really think I'd like doing that, but the family thing is a big consideration. Seeing that much of the world just sounds cool as hell.

Sorry I took so long to reply, I was flying. :2thumbsup: I would LOVE TO TELL YOU WHERE, but I cant. :shhh:

Currently we deploy for 4 months and then we are home for four months. It turns out to be 180 days a year. Then while we are home sometimes we fly locals in the states, but its kinda rare. So if you can handle 4 on and 4 off its awesome.

That was always a good two week tdy. The work was easy, we took our best jets, and the per diem kept us out all night!

Never been to Nellis TDY. Have been there to visit my Aunt for Christmas though. She was stationed there before she PCS'd to Buckley in Colorado. Have to go back there now that I'm 22. Last time I was there I was 20.

Hello

Air Force family here. I served 4 years and got out honorably while the wife decided to make it a career. She has about 2 1/2 years to go until 20 and having a hard time wanting to do any more.

My Jeep comes with the distinction that we bought it while stationed at RAF Lakenheath from another AF member. It has crossed the pond twice! Slung a little mud in a few different parts of the UK and on the European continent too. :2thumbsup:

We would love for our Jeep to be a member.

Wow, I forgot all about this. I am number 12! LOL, I had a TJ when I signed up but since bought a JK. I am now a loadmaster, I used to be a 3C051 but retrained into 1A2X1.
I was 3C051 back when it was still 491X1! Loadmaster would have been a great job, but I too got to see and do some cool stuff being deployed to install command and control systems globally. I was involved with some super secret squirrel computer systems during Bosnia and the first Desert Storm. I have been to places that aren't even 'bases', or on maps for that matter (and never were!) :D

(I had to get permission from the General to finish school). Met and married my husband while in tech school, and spent 4 years at Lindsey Air Station, Wiesbaden, Germany before he got out. :)
