Ok guys and gals. as you know it cut the top on my xj and now I am getting ready to cage the XJ. I just want to see some opinons. Should i go full out and order the 10 point cage that has the halo and down bars around the drivers compartment or should i start off with just the 8 point and not worry about other part.

well, if i was considering the two, i would go with the 10 point. just safety. sure, it may cost more, but i have a rather high price on my life. but, thats only my opinion

what exactly am I looking at in those pics? 'cause it sure doesn't look like anything made for an XJ...

A typical 'full' cage for an XJ would be a 6-pt or 8-pt cage, with down bars at the a-pillar, b-pillar, and d-pillar, and maybe additional supports to near the c-pillars (8-pt).

The kit from D&C extreme seems to be a popular starting point.

EssentiallyOffRoad also looks to have a good starting kit.

those were just some referance pics. the rear bars will go all the way back to the d pillar. there is a main hoop at the b pillar and the 10point will add down bars at the a pillar and a hallo around the front part of the compartment. Pretty much the 10 point is the same kit that D&C extreme has.
