About six weeks ago, I had the air conditioning system recharged. Recently it has been producing only slightly cool air. Any suggestions where I might look first.

Thanks for anticipated help,

Willie

Where do the leaks usually occur, by the way? Does the evap itself spring a pinhole leak somewhere, or does it leak at the point where the evap is welded/brazed/whatever to the pipes, or what? Just curious since I'd imagine the weld might be susceptible to a leak....

Well, yeah, that sure happened to mine. When I first bought the vehicle a couple years old, the entire cowl area was filled (literally) with leaves, and the fenders were filled with leaves, and the under-hood areas where leaves could possibly settle (like under the brake booster) were filled with leaves, etc., etc., etc.... Took quite some time to clear all that out....

Had a big problem with water in the right-side passenger compartment until I figured where the AC drains into the frame-rail (or is supposed to drain). Wish they'd made the drain more accessible, but maybe there was a good reason....?

I drilled a small hole in the plastic there and poked the leaves out of the drain and resealed it with some tube of metal-repair stuff I had (silly but it was available).

Later I broke through that thin layer to open the hole again and cleared the drain again and resealed. Haven't had the problem since, though I avoid parking under trees. ;)
