Jeff and I have talked about going out Friday after New Years and coming back that Sunday. Its probably not going to be a big group because of the trip two weeks later but we will be sure to get in plenty of trails and enjoy the desert. Speak now or forever hold your peace. :cheers2:

Had a good trip. It was a little chilly at night but no wind and we managed just fine. We go through almost the entire weekend with no mishaps until Collin broke a control arm bracket on Sunday. It was close enough to quitting time that we didn't bother with a trail fix and just limped it back to camp.

I forgot my camera so I only took a couple phone pix.

We discovered a couple new trails that will test everyone's under armor and were defeated on a couple of others and turned around.

Good times.

Snow on the way out

Jeff's being kind. Calsouth decided to do 9 months of carnage in 1 day. Started out with the front locker not working. once we go that fixed, he managed to hit 3 of 4 corners on the jeep, then the locker wiring shorted out and started to catch on fire, and finally we are poking around some new trails and he rips the upper control arm bracket off the rear axle, that also holds the trackbar in place. As we are making our way back to camp the rear axle is wandering all over the place. Took out the rear drive shaft so if it went bad we wouldn't take out the transfer case, transmission and what else. Two wheel front drive with no lockers gets us one wheel drive. It was a fun time. Just got the axle out from under the jeep and its on its way to get a new bracket. We should have it all back together in time for Superstition on 1/16.

calsouth got a great video of Jeff bonzaiing it down a hill, quite the incredible ending.
