Ok, I've looked here, Mallcrawlin, Pirate4x4, and couple other places and I can't seem to find any info on swapping a 99-05 Ford F350 D60/10.5 setup into a WJ. So with that said if I missed it I sincerely appolgize. Now to the questions. Is there anyone here running that setup? If so do you have any pics? And if not does anyone know of a build that uses that setup? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get an idea of what all was involved and what it looks like.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for sharing. I'm going to check through it all soon. Thanks for posting, anyone else who's used or seen a build thread using them let me know please.

It's no bigger than a 14 bolt. My biggest want for them is I work at a Ford dealer and have access to any special tools needed for them plus the experience of several good Techs that are good with them. Which is a plus because I don't have a clue with diff work. I know I could do it just don't know the in's and out's. As far as the aftermarket support, there is more than enough aftermarket for what I would want to do. And I also like the idea of having disc brakes out of the gate instead of trying to source an oem setup or buying new aftermarket.

A quick google search says 67 and 68.875 on the 10.5. So to know for sure I'll have to measure one at work. And tire size is not decided at this point. When this happens and it's no longer a daily driver I'll go as big as I can.

Thanks TJSWJ that's the measurement I came up with also. And does Bama_WJ have a build thread with any info on the swap yet? I'll check out Pirate on the WJ with the 10.5, I must have missed it.

Just to add a little more to this and why I'm leaning to the 60/10.5 setup, I just checked LKQ there closest yard is about an hour and a half away. And a D60/60 setup out of say a 3/4 ton dodge is about $750 for the rear and $1000 to $1100 for the front. I can get the 60/10.5 out of a Super Duty for $300 to $400 for the rear and $400 to $500 for the front. Now I know there are better options and probably better deals out there, but I can't seem to find any right now. Not that I'm going out today to get the axles. I've got a list of parts that needs to be assembled first before I buy the axles.

There are axles there, but a lot of them want more that LKQ. That being said, I'm sure that if cash is present that lower prices would probably easy to negotiate. Now I just need to sell a kidney to fund this little project... :)

Same here. I'm a tech at a Ford dealer and we don't replace many. Even when you look at lifted trucks and heavily modded trucks we haven't replaced many.

1999 used a dana 50. 2000-2004 used a leaf sprung dana 60 with not so great turning radius. 2005-2014 is a dana 60 that is 2 inches wider than the previous years I believe but will provide a much better turning radius, they also run larger brakes and require a 17 inch wheel. 2015 same as the previous but has larger brakes and requires particular 17 inch wheels. This is all for SRW applications on F250-F350 trucks.

1999-2004 10.5 axles are more narrow by two inches than 2005-Current.

A '99 Excursion and F250 might use a D50, but the F350 used a D60.

The best "bible" for the late model D60 Ford axles:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/general-4x4-discussion/834088-info-ford-super-duty-dana-60-axle.html

Cons:
No real aftermarket yet
High steer is out there, but expensive and requires machining.
Metric 8 lug pattern
Ball joint (not a true con, but they are not KP!)
Rear axles have little aftermarket support, and with the front being a metric bolt pattern you cant run a rear 14 bolt/60 without adapters.

IMO, wait for a KP D60. They are only ~$200 more and your options are limitless for what you can do with them. The 14 bolt is $200 all day long on CList, and a much easier axle to use.

The d50 was used as the front axle for srw applications on the excusion, f250, and f350. This was only for the 1999 model year, or at least until 99.5, then it went to a d60.
