Greetings all. Is it hard to change the clutch cylinders on your own. I dont have a hoist at all. Getting underneathe the jeep wouldn't be hard to do as it has a big lift on it. How long should it take to do the swap. A mechanic quoted me $500 canadian for parts and labor. Should i go that route instead?

Well you have to pull the tranny all the way out. You will need a 3 ton floor jack of what ever you can come up with. It can be done but it is not easy the first time.

I just did all of this work myself. It is easy however it is a pain in the arse to put the tranny back in. Have them do it for 500$ and also do ur clutch and flywheel at the same time

Putting the tranny in u will need Three jacks to level the tranny the out put is long

And hey there dude I am canadian too but in LA eh!

They flywheel and clutch are in awesome shape already. I think it would be easier to let the mechanic do the job. Dude, how do you like LA eh? :D

It's not difficult in a "technical" sort of way, just in a "crawling around on your back under the jeep for hours getting dirty" kinda way.

If you already have a buddy, a jack, and a weekend, go for it! Cost for the parts should only be around $150-$200, so you'll save quite a bit of money.
