anyone ever built their own muffler?

yes i do realize the cost effectiveness of this is terrible considering the numerous muffler options and relatively low cost of many of them. i want it more the the novelty than anything else really. That, and i am building the entire rest of the exhaust myself including the headers, so why not the mufflers as well.

thoughts, opinions, any input at all?

Throttle body 350.

Finally got the headers fully built and installed tuesday. and mufflers WILL be going on this weekend. Either saturday or sunday, there will be a sound clip of it.

even with just the headers i built, it has a much more Crisp sound to the motor, so i really can't wait to see what it will sounds like with the mufflers on there.

got it done today.

initial reaction is i like it. definitely better than open headers. the sound is a bit raspier than ideal, but turned out better than expected however.

working on version 2.0 for the tow pig, a 2005 GMC with the 8.1 big block. to match the current factory exhaust on the truck, this one is all stainless.

Start of it,

Laid out

and what the end product will look like, minus inlets/outlets as i still have to pick those up. Gonna be fully TIG welded as well.
