i heard that there was a write up somewhere on a good way to trim the front bumper to get some better ground clearance in the front...just wondering if anyone knew where this was or has done it themselves
Here is a side shot of mine from a couple of years ago.
Now, I recommend a dremel tool with a reinforced cutting wheel, a knife, a marker to make the "line" that you want. It only takes about 20 minutes tops for the entire process. Remember, measure twice and cut once.
Some cut the radiator piece off yet, your tires won't hit it.
I don't know if you're question was ever answered or not, but you're referring to the charcoal/evap canister on the driver side. It hangs on by three 10mm bolts that you can easily pop off, drop it down, and fit it sideways in behind the metal bumper support. We had to run some extra hose in mine, but a lot of people follow this method and secure it with zip ties for added tire clearance.
