My plan is to switch out my RC springs for some BDS ones. I'm running a 95 with 1in BL flat fenders and 33s currently. The plan is to run 35s eventually with this rig.
I've got the 4in RC kit currently, my question is what size BDS springs should I be bumping up to to keep the same stance or gain performance? Thanks!
odd packaging, I just rec a second set of BDS springs yesterday and both my orders were sent totaly unwrapped, wonder why yours have that cling wrap? not like anything is going to fall off the springs in transit. When you doing the swap?
Nope. But the springs aren't why the jeeps not back.
it's so pretty and nice
old and busted, all 4 spring packs are supposed to be different heights off the vehicle right?
Part of the reason I don't have my jeep back
another part
My boomerangs are mounted "backwards" by most standards beacuse of my setup, clearance for my steering box was needed with my PSC box being slightly larger, think durango box size. If it's an issue I'll flip em
The other issue we ran into is I have no clutch and my trans is leaking like a siv, that's not from the lift install though that's a new problem thanks to old man winter. shocks should be ordered as soon as the other problems are fixed, but we're getting closer!
Nope. Scrap metal. I won't wish rough country on anyone. Let alone used rough country. Trevor over at MDR engines. Formerly M&D Automotive in purcellville does my work. They built my engine and did my tummy tuck too.
Cut the front of the 2nd leaf on both sides of the front springs. do the same for the rear, but the rear ofthe 2nd leaf. It will flex much more. My rc spring without military wrap broke due to too much flexiness, but the bds is beef, so im not worrying about the same thing happening.
I've seen that. I'm gonna wait to run my rig with the springs First then see if I'm gonna cut them. Its hard to justify cutting something I just spent that much money on.

More flex is better as the military wrap limits it. I understand it's Tough to cut what you spent all the effort installing. Mine are fab techs, $70 a pair. Motivational pics.

I did that to my old fabtech (they where horriable) springs (military wrap as well) and never plan on doing that again. I get more than enough flex with the bds military wraps in tack!
Keep in mind this is not 100% flexed out and was taken back when I had stock length booms, I now have 5/8 booms which allow the spring to compress futher!
Gtwinch started out as okgtwnh but no one could read it. It stands for got winch. Or ok got winch because my first trio out I was a little..... Zealous if you will stating that if anything happened it was ok. Because I had a winch. Didn't need to use it all weekend and then the first time I used it I promptly set the winch on fire as it chewed up its internals. Irony eh?
Gt it nw. What didn't you like about the fab tech springs? They ride like a dump truck? I always assume that is normal for a lifted jeep with cheap shocks.
Never run fabtech. Ran rough country. Got pointed twords BDS. It rides smooth and classy on my friends rig and I fell in love. Can't wait to see how mine rides.
apologies for repeatidly piling on your thread but it seems like it might be good resource for others down the road going thru what we have with the RC junk.
I have about 300 miles under the jeep with the new BDS springs, I still have the RC shocks, I notice now that the jeep has an actual 3-4 inches of lift that when I lift the jeep by the frame there is less than 1" of travel before the shock is fully extended and greatly limits my droop. What should I do for proper shocks that will allow a the axle to drop more than 1/2", any thoughts appreciated.
I went a lot over board on shocks. I'll fill you in tomorrow. Please please add to my I HATE ROUGH COUNTRY thread, the more the merrier.
