This thread is to serve as an inspiration to others modifying their ZJ's. Pretty simple, just post what you did to your ZJ today!

Today I shamefully took my Jeep to get the oil changed because it was to hot to change it myself.

Well took my Jeep in today to have some work done, valve cover gasket, fuel pump tank gasket, front and rear differential fluids, got valve cover gasket replaced, but the one I had didn't fit? Had to order another one, apirently there is a slightly different design in the 4.0 heads in newer models than older ones. Well that was fixed with no problems finally. Then the diffrential fluids were changed and cases cleaned out. The old fluid looked so bad and dirty we surmise that it could have been the original fluids when my Jeep was new! Also the fuel pump gasket was ripped and the band was so loose I was able to turn it by my fingers! My mechanic friend said that someone had been in the tank before and didn't put the band on correctly, he also told me that my fuel pump had been changed before with one from the junk yard. So who ever did replace it didn't do it right. It took him 3 hours to do all the work. But right now I'm having hesatation and had a backfire coming home, I'm wondering it is hesatating because the fuel pump was out of the gas or what? The next thing I want to do once I get more money is have the transmission fluid and filter changed later this summer. But first the hesatation I need corrected. I have 271900 miles on my Jeep.

Do you know the service history of the trans fluid? If you don't, I'd consider it pretty risky to change.

Valve cover gasket probably means a few vacuum lines and whatever else the 4.0 has up there (been awhile since I've seen one) may not be routed correctly or not put back into place... that happens.

The can is indeed an oil catch can.

If he just drops the pan and changes the filter/adjusts bands it should be fine. It will mix with the old fluid. Now a complete flush would probably be bad for it.

The difference between the Addco rear sway bar vs. the stock sway bar. Got it in today but haven't had a chance to test it yet. Kind of a pain to get the old bar out. I had to unbolt the brake lines and do some fancy wiggling. The end links that come with the bar are too short. They are even shorter than the stock end links so I didn't use them.

Polka, you'll notice a difference for sure!
Made a huge difference when I put one on my wife's ZJ.
I need one for my ZJ now...
I also bought the Energy Suspension sway bar link for a 4" lift to go with it.

You won't be unhappy!

I need to get longer end links for sure. Going to to test it out soon. I have had the front bar in for a couple years and it made a big difference.
I have some kind of clunk monkey that sounds like it's coming from right under the passenger side wheel well but nothing under there was loose and the bushings are good. New control arms and all. I thought the rear bar and new bushings would fix it but it's still there. Starting to think I need to pull the rear shaft and grease the splines. Oh well.

That would be nice to have. Every other one of my cars is or was a manual. I've always said I wouldn't buy an auto unless it was a V8. So I bought the biggest one I could get. Haha.

(But let's be realistic here... I didn't enjoy burning my clutch every time I wheeled the Yota. So I prefer to burn ATF. It's better that way).

I'm having a blast with it so far. Noticeably better on gas than the 5.2 but still fun switching gears. I just wanted something that you don't see every day.

You said it first! It was a noticeable improvement in handling. Takes turns much better and highway speeds are straight as an arrow. I should have done the rear sooner. :2thumbsup:

Since I can't find a bumper I figured I'd have some fun with it.
