We can do a handgun challenge. Activities to include: standing, low time pressure from concealed holster(5 seconds per shot, 5 shots,) standing high time pressure from concealed holster(4 seconds for 5 shots.) Exercises done at 5, 7, 10, 25 yards on four scored targets. Missed shots subtract 10 points. Unfired/time expired rounds subtract 5 points each.
Elimination style match at 10 yards, 3 shots for two 3-4" diameter targets(air-filled water balloons) from concealed holster. Slowest/least accurate competitor loses the round(no points penalty for misses.) Rounds continue until winner achieved. Winner gains 15 points, 2nd place gets 10, third gets 5. Scores added to the scored target challenge. Highest overall score wins.
What do you all think?
Depending on how many of us show up, it should go pretty quickly, and everyone can help time/judge everyone else's targets for fairness. This could really be a good time!
Sounds like fun. I'll be honest I've never practiced drawing from a concealed holster and try to put it on target. I'm excited and down for that weekend!
So, Saturday the 15th meet at the Jack In The Box at the M resort at 9, roll out to Sloan spot at 930? Everyone bring a $20 and some target money. I'll see if I can come up with some scored handgun targets and/or some cheap scored silhouettes this weekend, and we can split the cost up when we get there. I'll bring the receipt. Sound good and fair?
All I'm going to say is very body needs to be VERY VERY VERY safety minded when doing this. Going into and out of the holster is when you tend to shoot yourself.
No, he had it right the first time. Chicago Cubs are getting back to basics. He is going to teach them what an out is. 20-25 years from now, they might actually have a season.
Tried 23.5 24 and 24.5 grains of varget, two different overall lengths. Ended up with a few 5 shot groups that were less than .75" at 100 yards.
Best was .62"
It was pretty windy I still have a sinus headache and I forgot my bipod so I had to shoot from a hard plastic rest, but I think the results are still good.
Not really sure if I should expect any better than that?
Also you fools really got me thinking.....I kinda sorta really do want a .45-70 BFR now, haha.
