I was stationed at Naval Station Staten Island. When we got there, the only thing they had was the long-*** pier that our CO insisted on parking at the end, bow out. Had a fantastic view of Manhattan skyline almost every morning though. I kinda miss that place.
They've recently torn down the majority of the buildings there. It was being used for some form of courts, but now it's nothing and the FDNY is using the pier now

Another AT. I used to believe ATs were here so the AWs could have dancing partners...until I had to convert to AW..now I guess the joke's on me.
Welcome aboard.
AWF1......former AE
I was given a choice..stay AE and quit being an Aircrewman. Or take the conversion to AWF. I like the flying part so I stayed..the lack of promotion is the trade off.
Just became member of forum, also new to Jeeps, just bought a 2000 Cherokee Classic, only 2WD but I like it so freaking much I'll probably try to make it a 4x4. EN2 stationed in Pensacola for almost 2 years, been in for almost 9 now, here to learn.
Welcome aboard EN2! Did 8 myself back during the first Gulf war! No better place to learn, but I would think turning a 2WD into a 4 might be a bit more work than it would be worth. Fix up the one you have a bit and sell it and buy a 4WD that you can spend the $ on that you would have spent making a 2WD a 4WD. Just my .02 cents worth!

Welcome.....I'm not far from you (Navarre) and you can pick up one of those already started in the mod dept for $5-6k. Fix up what ya got and then go big
Hey, EN3, my last duty station in 1998 was Everett! Is the Lincoln actually homeported there? When I was there she was in Bremerton. I was also aboard the USS HALEAKALA and the USS COWPENS the HALEAKALA was homeported in Guam until we decommed her in 1993, and the COWPENS was in San Diego when I served aboard, but she is now in Yokosuka Japan. Welcome aboard shipmate!
Looking for a friend of mine who I lost touch with: Dave Stephan from Gurnee, IL, has a sister which used to live in Santa Barbara. He was either NMCB18 or NCSFU2 Seabees. We were both in Kuwait in 2003. Anybody knows him? I d like to reconnect...
