Well two weeks ago we had a major turn out at the Moonrocks, probably 300 people for a non sanctioned event. Pro Rock Crawler Mike Shaffer called out local trash talker Rockape into a game of follow the leader in their buggies. Best of 3 wins. Mr. Rockape worked Shaffer on the Right V-Crack, Shaffer was disqualified on the first obstacle for backing up more than 3 times. On the next obstacle, Rockape had two back-ups and on the way down blew his starter out on a rock. Shaffer went through flawlessly and evened the score. Half hour later, Rockape has a new starter and the comp continued. Shaffer went first, straight up a 30 ft granite rock face. Rockape went next and ended up on his lid. Here's the pics:

Rockape showed up in style for this event w/ a stretched limo

A couple of us were trying to flip over a buddies yota when he wasnt looking, just as we had it ready to go he caught us and started pushing from the other side:laugh:

This was a great event. However, some morons who most likely dont 4x4 went out there and has spray painted all over these beautiful rocks. We are having a clean-up out there in a few weeks to take the paint off the rocks and clean the place up as the BLM is wanting to close it down to motorized traffic which would be a huge loss to the 4wheelin crowd.

I know what you mean, its disguised pretty well. That buggy worked everything out there that day, well most everybody. There were two other well built buggys out there that day. Also, one guy from Truck Town USA had an electric buggy, but it wasnt charged up that much so he didnt play all that.

Air Sierra, your a celebrity:rofl:

I know what you mean about the crowds. We were there something like thurs thru sunday morning, the place really filled up for the weekend. So we played durring the weekdays and watched all the action when the crowds showed up. It's a great place to camp with so many awesome lines in such a small area.

I'm in Red Bluff, about 2 hours north of Sacramento. Here's a link to some of our moonrocks pics if anyone wants to check em out... http://www.4x4trailhunters.com/allpictures.php?id=49
