I have a '96Jeep Cherokee that I'm selling as i need a pickup truck to haul stuff. My problem is price, my thought is it can't be worth too much but it seems people ask $5000 for something that barely runs and you have drop i lot of money into?
So what is the ball park on a '96 Jeep Cherokee that has some miles, auto, 4.0 straight 6 engine, 4WD has hardly been used, last year repaired radiator, condenser with high and low pressure lines, water pump and a few gaskets, last month was a new alternator and a new battery. When things brake they get repaired. No rust in body or frame but does need some work … headliner, grill, and couple of tires on the front. I live in AL and several times I have driven this 900 each way to NJ, just check the oil, fill up with gas and go.
Would make a great vehicle for a high school or college kid, custom project, or someone who needs to pull a boat or trailer, etc. Probably could post some pictures ?
So what is a ball park ….. $2000, $3000 …. $5000?

Edmunds says your '96 4.0 liter 4WD Automatic cherokee in average condition with expected miles on it would be worth between $600 & $900 on a trade in, $1000 to $1500 in a private sale and if you were a dealer between $1800 and $2500.
This is figured at 10,000 miles per year and needing minor work. You could probably count on selling it for $1200 or so. Cherokees are not in demand like Wranglers.
