Well have to start somewhere have been hanging around here long enough paid member and all anyhoo figured I would put this here like everyone else to log what I have done.
Mine may take a bit not to get running mind you but to well they never finish who am I kidding
I will get to some pics later on in the day as I am out there pulling the heads.
Well I thought the machine shop was done with my block was going to pick it up last time home. Well I am back at work and the machine shop just called and told me the block is going to have to go to .060 over they had told me they went .030 and I had the pistons at the house. I took them up to the machine shop the day before I caught the boat this time and had ARP rod bolts coming in so I thought the block was done but NOOO. So they are getting with the place I bought the pistons and getting the right pistons.
Well going .060 over is not a big problem but seeing as the Jeep is not going anywhere I will be on the look out for a 360 after the rebuild or heck lets get ambitious and say 401 lol for a slow rebuild because even though you could bore the 304 out more it is not worth it. Heck going .060 is not really worth it but it is what I have and want her up and running.
Well I am still alive and kicking for now. Anyhow little update waiting on the machine shop again as it took them 2 weeks to get the .030 pistons to the guy I bought them from. Why do I know this because he calls me and say hey we just got the pistons back 2 weeks after I gave them to the machine shop. So I told him to send them back to the machine shop the .060 pistons that is.
Hmmm simple enough, I guess not now mind you I am out on the boat so my wife says you got some packages well I had ordered some other stuff and thought that was it. Well something did not show up and I told her open them up and see well low and behold the pistons and rings are back at my house so she will have to take them by the machine shop.
The Saga continues! At least I am off for Christmas
