OK, I stole the idea from the YJ forum but it's a great idea so let this thread be an inspiration for all of us doing mods, maintenance, or repairs to our TJ's! :D

Personally, I installed my trusty Uniden CB into my new Rubicon.

I found the source of the mysterious creaking noise!!! The Rokmen uppers in the rear had wiggled loose a bit and were producing a god awful creaking noise on acceleration and bumps. Tightened the bolts all down and she's quiet again. I spent all that time rebuilding the lowers when it was just a few loose bolts, not that the lowers didn't need rebuilding. And now I'll be packing it and heading for a squeak-free ride at Uwharrie.
Interesting, I'm having a creaking as well. But I'm about to replace everything with a new kit so hopefully that will solve my groan as well.

Changed out the 1157 brake light bulbs in favor of a pair of 2357 bulbs. The 2357 bulbs are the same brightness in running light mode but are significantly brighter when the brakes are applied. I already replaced the bulb in the stock third brake light with a bright LED one so now they are all around the same level of brightness now with the brakes applied.
Hmmm, I'd be all for a brighter 3rd brake light. Lead me to this part location and price.

I just finished removing the chrome Jeep emblem on the front, sanded it down, repainted it textured flat black, and changed the spacing on the leeters!!

The third brake light bulb I bought from superbrightleds.com and the stock socket accepts either 194 or 921 size bulbs, which are pretty common. Here's a link to it: http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/miniature-wedge-base/194-led-bulb--19-smd-led-wedge-base-tower/1563/ and it seems like it improved the reaction time of other drivers behind me. It's pretty bright and disperses light well since the stock housing for the third brake light is small plus you don't have to mess with or change the flasher since it's not on the flasher circuit. Make sure you buy it it in RED to match the color of the reflector though. You may find it cheaper on ebay as I only bought mine from superbrightleds since I had good luck with them in the past.

The 2357 bulbs for the two tail lights are just standard bulbs you can buy at even walmart and they are a bit better than stock. I do have projector LED bulbs as backup lights in the stock housing which work great but took some minor modification to work properly so it was about the same price as buying off-the-shelf backup lights from walmart.

Ordered new R&P and install kit for 8.8. Also ordered new extended front brake lines.

Got the inner and out pinion races pressed on my HP30. I figured out I needed 0.098" of spacers which entails:
0.031 Slinger
0.021 Baffle
0.046 shims
So I said screw it and put it in. You only live once (plus I have another baffle :) )

Almost have the design for my tube fenders finalized. But starting to change my mind again. :brickwall: thinking less of an angle across the front (currently 45*, thinking 60*) and trying to decide what angle to put at the bottom of the flare. But I've atleast decided on this style vs. my other design.

If I were to bust some serious *** I might be driving it tomorrow, but I'm not going to be busting some serious *** lol :D. I got a lot of parts to clean up and catalytic system still to arrive from rockauto. I would put a realistic expectation maybe Tuesday morning I'll be ready to take it to the dealer for final tuning on the OPDA.
Excellent, take you time and get it right, can't wait to hear the report

Finally got rid of the last of the vibes, and decided to put my front shaft back in for wheeling this weekend. I had the axle end wrapped up in a trash bag so the caps wouldn't get nasty. I did have the bearing caps wrapped with tape so they wouldn't fall off. It started pouring, and I already had a bolt started in the cv end. Wasn't paying attention, and this happened.

Im usually smarter then that, but in my defense the rain was cold. Scraped what I could off. Now I smell like a plastic recycling center going down the road.

Finally! I just picked my jeep up from the shop where I had 4.88's installed with Detroit truetracs front and rear and Yukon shafts in back. This was the final modification needed to finish what I consider to be phase one. Now the jeep is a capable all around wheeler and still a great daily driver. Some day when the jeep is replaced as a daily driver it may morph again into something wilder, but I am ready to rock and roll now. I can't wait to go wheeling with the new gearing and LSD's, but already on the street I am so happy I went with 4.88's. I got my OD back! I don't understand those who will upgrade thier stereos and buy expensive light bars, bumpers and other do-dads but wont' put the money in for a re-gear. I understand I can take awhile to save up the cash, it took me awhile, but it is so worth it!
