My opinion? Buy once cry once. Get what you think you'll need the first time around, and get quality. I would go RCBS, but thats more than you want to spend. I have heard plenty of good about the lee stuff, but i've also heard and experienced some of the not so good (inconsistent measurements and whatnot). Will it work? sure. Will it last? probably a while. Is making home made bullets something I want to cut ANY corners on? No thanks, I'd like to keep my eyes, face, hands, and guns intact.
Ask yourself this:
What are you planning to reload? High volume stuff like 9mm or 55gr .223? Get a progressive setup. Setting it up takes alot longer but you will load a run of like 1000 rounds before switching calibers. If you're new to it, a progressive may be a bit much to swallow, unless you proceed slowly.
Want to go a lil faster than single stage? get a turret. Turret just saves time on the setup, you're still pulling the handle the same amount of times.
If you're more concerned with pumping out low volume high quality ammo, go single stage. There are things you can do to make it go faster, like terry got the case prep center and the electronic chargemaster, but still, single stage takes a while.
I dont feel like its worth my time to load high volume ammo. 9mm i can get factory reloads for about 20 cents a round, surplus 5.56 is coming down too. What am I going to save by spending an entire weekend or two reloading 1000 rounds? $100? Not worth it I plan to be reloading .45-70, match quality .223, and .357, all of which would be considered (in my case) low volume, high expense rounds. On match .223 and .45-70 I will literally be saving $100 on 100 rounds over buying factory ammo. That, is worth my time.
