Hi guys im going to be making a build on my xj. I'm in the market right now for a 4 door xj. Hoping to get some subscribers now so when I get it and start the work I can get some input. I built a cj5 last year. Will post a before and after pic. Blew the motor up in the Cj, got pissed off, and decided I wanted a xj. Hoping to have the xj through college as well

I wouldn't say "pure sex". Looks like something I could bend up with my harbor freight tube kinker. Not much for bends. They build some ugly tube front end but skimp on a cage? Gay.
No need for a Exo, the amount of weight you would add would just be dumb. I think they are over rated unless you roll the jeep on its side often. I like the thing it resembled the flat flairs on a tj. You could always bend it for me an ship it o me :D

I think an exo is worth it. You can drag along **** and not worry about dents and scratches. And roll. And when you roll have a spot to attach to flip it over easier
A small amount of armor is plenty to slide on, this is just my opinion but think about it a Exo doesn't cover the whole jeep just a couple areas to pivot/slide on. If your wheeling like that you shouldn't be worrying about scratches and what not. Just my .02...rolling it sure

I wouldn't have a windshield, roof, or much if my pillars left if I didn't have my cage

So I'm thinking about chopping the xj this weekend. I Wana cut from right behind the back seats and back and cut the rear window area off a Comanche and make my jeep like a shortened Comanche. It would look different and I Wana put a Comanche tailgate on the back. It just sucks cuz it's cold now and I would need to finish quick and I don't Wana rush and make it look stupid. You guys like the idea? Also in the back area I would plate the sides and probably put a toolbox that fits good in there. Or a spare tire if it will fit.

Yea I actually decided to wait until I have time to do it right. I need rear leaf springs and a new electric fan. And I need to cut and fold my rear quarters. And trim up the rear tj flares. And bumpstop the rear. All that's on the list before the chop. Trying to get my gf to get me a synthetic winch line for christmas. Parents getting me tires for christmas. Should have some updates soon.

Get air right as in sealing the back? I figured I'd have to structure it better like with a cage or something. And as for the comfort it would be less comfort for passengers but not me haha. Idk I am re thinking it though because it's a lot of work and it's really only for looks

Got some s 10 leafs today for bastard packs. Gonna use the full s 10 leaf with my xj main leafs. Using the overload leaf on the s 10 pack too. Hopefully it will sit level. And hopefully they are stiff enough to stop my axle wrap. Don't really wana build build a ladder bar. I blew another ujoint last night tho trying to **** with a tj and start a jeep race lol. It broke but was still connected so I managed to limp to my hockey game, Napa for a ujoint, and my girl friends to do the ujoint. I was surprised I made it.

Got the rear springs done. Sits nice and level now. Still have a little axle wrap so I'm gonna get some metal and build a ladder bar after I get some cash. I'm getting a 98 4 door 4.0 auto tomorrow or Saturday for 400 bucks. Gonna sell as much parts as I can then wheel the piss out of it. Not putting any money into it just gonna wheel it and scrap it when it wont wheel no more. Lol. Anyone needs and parts from a 97+ let me know. Body isn't too good. It was rolled lol. Other than that interior and all is good. I'm keeping the block of the 4.0 and I'll keep the transmission but other than that I'll sell anything else.

Me and a friend went out wheeling last night and I really am going to need a hydro assist. I'd go full hydro but idk if it would be able to be street driven. Butttt my girl is getting me a harbor freight pipe bender and I'm going to build an exo out of some sch40 pipe. Probably 1 1/2". For what I'm doing pipe will be strong enough. Or I may use 1 5/8" dom cuz it will fit the pipe die for the bender. I just want a cheap exo cage and I Wana practice bending. But I'm gonna build some sliders and a front bumper too and tie it all in. My friends going to build an exo for his toyota with it too.

Hydro assist is plenty for your tires. It turns my locked 37s like I'm still on stock tires.

I'd rather bend pipe using my forehead than a harbor freight bender.

Don't listen to anyone a HF bender is fine and for the price you can't beat it if you have some tough bends and your worried about them pack the tube with sand and go at it.

I'll assume you've never built a cage with one

Haha.... I think what I was doing counts as abuse

New toy on the left. I think it's a 98? Lol good solid motor until I blew the head gasket yesterday. The radiator was destroyed but I had to take it wheeling lol. Got it for 400 bucks. The block in this motor is better than mine so I'm gonna put my head on that block. Then part the rest of it. Runs and drives great just alot of body damage. Interior is In mint condition. 2 back doors are good. If anyone wants anything ask. I'll name a price. Back hatch was good til I rolled down a hill into a tree in reverse lol. I think it's like 200k on the odometer but the guy before me put a new trans in at 150k so the transmission is good and tcase is good too. I think it's a np231 I don't even remember if it had full time or not. It's a sport so it should be a 231 right?
