Here is a pic that i found since i didn't want to take my cluster back apart. Its terrible quality but you can see the 5 bulb sockets the red arrows are pointing to, those are the ones you will replace with the wedge bulbs. Just take a pair of small pliers and twist the black socket about a quarter turn CC and the bulb will pull straight out. Then just pull the incandescent wedge bulb from the socket and replace it with the led wedge bulb, then put the socket back in the hole and rotate a quarter turn clockwise to lock it back in place. It may seem complicated through all the these different numbers and bulb types and such but it is really as simple and as self explanatory as changing a regular light bulb once you order the correct leds. Theres also a good video on youtube showing how to remove the gauge cluster in a wj, just search for wj gauge cluster removal and it'll pop up.
^boom right there. Takes about ten minutes total. Just pop the lid and behind the steering wheel and two screws then unplug the cluster.

I have had the gauge cluster out many times, so that's nothing for me, I just wanted to know which bulbs you changed to make it glow like that. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I will be doing it this weekend. I think I have enough blue LED wedges to do this, now that I know which ones to replace. Now, just to double-check, those back-light bulbs ARE PC 74 wedges, right? Not a 163 like the picture says. My fog-light bulb quit working, so I need to get in there, any way.
Thanks, again. I guess I will need to start on my heater control, too. I have the baseless blue bulbs that I can solder in, if they are not too tall.

This is what I'm worried about... Mine has been doing this recently. Why the hell are batteries so damn expensive? If you were replacing one what would you guys grab?
I'd have to say (and I'm no expert) that if you're going to spend the money, buy an Optima. Bought one for my wife's Suburban and it has been flawless for the year we've had it. I can't remember if it is red or yellow - which ever is less expensive, probably, but I'm sure it depended on what our little Auto Zone could get a hold of quickly.

I guess that takes care of any potential low current problems you may have had, before. You said you have a 1200 watt system and a winch, do you ever smell any burning plastic when using those?

Nope, should I. Nothing like playing the stereo all night and having the lights on, then just flip a switch and it fires right up.

No, not if you are using the correct gauge wire. With two batteries in parallel, you have a lot of current available.

Shouldn't be a problem...

Winch has its own 2 gauge wire running from front batt to winch.

Amp has its own 2 gauge wire running from back batt to amp.

Starter has 2 gauge wire.

Inverter has its own 2 gauge wire running from batt to inverter.

Alt has 2 gauge wire.

Starter has 2 gauge wire.

Running 0 gauge wire from batt's to isolator batt's.

Replaced water pump...and while I had things torn apart there..replaced fan clutch (iffy) and serpentine belt.
Would've also replaced E-fan but the "universal" unit auto parts store sold me was NOT universal and they wanted arm & leg for other. (ordering oem match e-fan online for 1/2 price)

*Drilled small hole in edge of water pump pulley - ran long screwdriver through hole to brace/lock pulley to break large nut on fan clutch loose....wasn't about to spend $30 -$40 on fan clutch tool - auto parts around me do not rent them.

I KNEW there was something different. The white-faced gauges do not have backlight bulbs that you can take out. They have a different kind of backlighting. I did not get to use my blue 74's yet, but I did use my white LED's in place of the turn signal, cruise light, seatbelt light, fog-light indicator and others. For some reason, the ABS LED slightly glows, so I am going to have to put the regular bulb back in there.
I found that the Quadradrive II gauge has a Part-time bulb, but is not used. I labeled the bulbs as I went along so I would know, later what was what. I fixed the intermittent, blue LED in my EVIC while I was at it.
