My oh my had a somewhat typical day working on the heep. Went to replace pinion seals...the rear went relatively trouble free, then it just all went down hill from there.
Lost a ujoint cap, dry needle bearings everywhere, didn't feel like doing it right, so I nursed them all back in and slapped it back together. Then found snap ring had popped out on a upper axle side JJ, and that 15 minute job turned into an hour of fiddling around as I grabbed the wrong socket for the bj press. Got the front diff open, to find 2 broken teeth from the planet gears...so that's awesome.
I'm only on 2 hours sleep last night so I'm sure that didn't help.
So, you know, typical...fix one thing find 2 more problems. 2 hour job turns into 6. Baby Jeep still sits...no diff covers, still need to measure/set front pinion. Was hoping to patch a slow leak, add horsepower stickers, clean garage and pack for wheeling trip tomorrow...not sure that's gonna happen now
