But tonite as I rode home with the top off I really loved my rust-bucket YJ! At damn near 300k she still runs strong and I won't give it up for the world. She just isn't so pretty right now so some cosmetic work is coming, but after a long time w/o it and just military vechiles it was twice as sweet.

Just figured y'all would get it more so than the rest of the site. ;)

4.0, hard top, full doors!! That's a score if you ask me!!
Totally! His GF demanded at least a hard top. I myself prefer the rag top since I run topless about 8 months out of the year and hate storing the shell, but its a killer score and in perfect shape.
Great looking YJ. Are those your pointy boots in the pic? :teehee:
Lol. Nah they're my brothers. I took the pic :)

Cheers

Cheap cobra. It's all you need. My only gripe is that the speaker is too quiet to hear anything in my loud *** rig. But that's a common problem withal all the cbs

I'd likely wire it into the stereo speaker over my head so I can hear it. I'll take a look at me, I've heard good things about cobra. It just seems like a mod I should if I ever plan to actually wheel :brickwall:

I ended up with a cheap radioshack job, but haven't put it in yet - I wish I found this site before I ordered most of the parts, they have some good deals & kits:

I have the Cobra 75WX-ST in my Jeep, motorhome, and Avalanche. No dash space is used up, and I can quickly remove it for security.
The box you see on the right mounts up under the dash out of sight, and all the controls are in the mic. The speaker is OK at best. The small DIN plug you see is for the external speaker jack. I use a FrieStik antenna. Works well, convenient, cheap, easy. Like me.

I see them on ebay and CL for cheap all the time. Even new they are relatively inexpensive.
Spend your money on the antenna. Don't cheap out. Seventy percent of your signal quality is from the antenna.

Dirtkar and I were filling up with gas at a local flying J before a short wheeling trip when he told me he didn't have a cb. We went inside and $100 later, he had everything to install it on the trail and use it for the back leg of the run. A cb is cheap insurance when t comes to trail hazards and a nice way to keep in touch when cell service is scarce.

I use that in the YJ too. I have a toggle switch that puts the YJ front dash speakers to the External Speaker plug on that small RF box. It's a lot easier than trying to keep the mic speaker close to your ear.
Hey Don! Long time. :cheers2:

Yeah I was walking through a junk yard and there was a police car there. They hadn't removed the Motorola external speaker so I grabbed it. I also got the 200 watt speaker behind the grill. Score! I mounted the Motorola in my Jeep on the trans hump and it's super clear.
I do like the toggle switch idea. Maybe I should do that and switch it to my sound bar speaker above my head. Easy enough to do.
