I figured since the other thread started out as talking about making a club, and what clubs are available, we should have a thread that's just dedicated to setting up trail runs.
The title says it all, and it'll be less cluttered.
So, the 9/18/10 Run to Potato Ridge was a success!
Next item on the schedule is Logandale on 10/23/10 according to McRoberts. Seems like we have a few interested parties! Who all is planning to attend?
If there is anything in the meantime, or someone local wants another rig to ride with them, just post up and see if anyone is available!
I never leave anything out just for that reason. Esp when I have the soft top on.
Hopefully you will have the waggy back by the weekend Marn and it will all be worth it. Hopefully it will just end up being something stupid and this will all be a lesson learned. After all didn't you rebuild the trans by yourself too?
Man, if anyone wanted to get into racing, this is a SMOKING deal!!! The damn truck has $6000 in shocks alone on it and he's only asking $9300. Granted, it's a heck of a drive to buy it though. You'd be legal to race against us and in class 7S also which actually is where I started out back in about '01.
anyway, hour and 20 minutes after the shop opened i got a call saying it stops good now, and they want me to come test it to make sure it feels right because i'm the one who has the experience driving it. But Larry said "if it was my truck I'd be real happy with how it stops!"

Said they switched my vacuum lines around, but those have been the same since i bought it. Then they said they made some adjustments and it was then setup for the BACK wouldnt grab, and they had to adjust the rear adjusters a ton (2 full turns each) and now its stopping well.
I'll get more details whenever I can get over there.
LOL, so possibly, non of the parts you've been swapping in and out and returning to vendor multiple times were bad? Something seemed really strange with the amount of parts that you kept returning.
Crap, I keep looking at the $9300 race truck!!!! It would cost you $20-25K in parts to reproduce that thing without any labor factored into that truck! Road trip to Washington? Go halves on it with someone... Haul it down here where the market actually is and sell it for profit!!! HAHAHA

Well, two of the 4 master cylinders wouldnt bench bleed. No matter what they were bubbling air. So, those were bad.
the prop valve I returned the pin wouldnt move and it literally was oozing out fluid when you pressed the brake, so that was bad.
the most recent master cylinder seemed good, but i swapped it out on a whim just to see if it helped. I already had bought it, and i already had one that came on my booster.
So it seems like i may have swapped out 1 good MC and perhaps the original booster wasnt bad.
LOL, just stumbled on this... Not sure if not being a member you'll be able to view or not so this may be completely pointless... But, post number 2416 if you can view it. LOL
Yup, same kid... I shot him a text earlier to see if they still had any interest in it or wanted to do the test ride in it.
I think in a week or two or whenever the race truck is back on it's wheels I'll likely be parking it in the sideyard and actually be pulling my truck in the garage for some love. Thinking it's time to build the new spindles I've been talking about forever... Dana 44 hubs should easily hold up to my abuse!
Mine is over in about 45 minutes, then I go get u-bolts made, have an aluminum ramp welded up, pickup a template from a friend I need to put into cad for him, head home, put a fuse inline on my light that I completely forgot to put in last night and then twiddle my thumbs most likely... LOL
No seriously, I'll probably stand around in the garage leaning against the fenders on the race truck twiddling my thumbs trying to think of what to do next. Walking into the house before like 8ish pm is a strange feeling for me and I feel like I'm wasting time that I could be using in a better way.
Well it definitely stops! Front tires scrubbed when I stomped the pedal.
It just doesn't feel like I thought it would is part of what's going on. It has alot of movement in the pedal and is pretty easy to push. Part of that could also be the dual diaphragm booster. Pedal doesn't feel like I had anticipated but it definitely stops.
Good to hear. What did they wind up charging you if you don't mind my asking?
