Does a 2.5L have a rev limiter?

I keep telling my self it has to have a rev limiter, but doing a search does not give a definitive answer. I have found people in TJ's talking about a rev limiter but no one in a YJ seems to have hit theirs.

The highest I have knowingly revved my Jeep is 3,500rpm just messing around, anything above 3,000rpm did not seem to make a difference so I shifted.

This thread says the YJ does not have a rev limiter and the valves float around 6,200rpm.

This guy also throws out a 6,200rpm number.

This guy says, the Renix 4.0L does not have a rev limiter, but they are talking about Cherokees, and my 2.5L has a Renix computer.

So does anyone have a source that says that the YJ has a rev limiter (and where it kicks in)? Or does anyone need an excuse for a V8 swap in there 2.5L Jeep, please video tape.

The 94 and 92 are both multi port fuel injected, which came around the same time the 4.0L HO did. Anyone have a 87-90 2.5L? If the Renix 4.0L does not have a limiter (I have found 5 or 6 other threads that say they don't) I don't see why the Renix 2.5L would? It just seems like being fuel injected they would have put a limiter on it, which is apparently not always the case.

When I had a 2.5 it definitely had a rev limiter and i used it frequently. If I remember correctly it was in the 6000s
