I am looking for new tires for my 06 Wrangler. Size is 265 70R16. Does anyone have suggestions for a good set? I do not go off road much and do almost all pavement driving so I don't need super aggressive tires but also don't want minivan tires.
I run the same size on my WJ and just recently went with the Cooper Discoverer AT3 for SUVs. I like them alot but not enough miles (< 3k) or different terrain to give them the enthusiastic :2thumbsup: or an in-depth informed opinion.
i got aset of cooper discoverer atp in 265/75r16 for $530 with free shipping. they balanced out really well and roll really smooth. they really good in the rain and they are alright for some mild offroading. above 60 there is no sound from them at all. gonna take them on a 400 mile roadtrip next week so i will see how they do then.
BFG AT KO has been around for a long time for good reason. Nice aggressive tread, durable, strong sidewalls, priced reasonably and everyone who owns them agree they have a good quiet ride for having an off road look.
Can someone give me some info on tires and wheels. Ive looked and looked. I dont have the ability to put on my self and my jeep probably needs a lift to support a really nice looking tire. I got estimates and they want to charge me 2800 and 3200 for the whole job. Thats tires wheels and lift. I thought i could get a better deal if i bought the tires and wheels online myself. Please advise
And if you want a lift kit, buy it yourself online from a vendor with great prices and either learn how to do it, or get some local forum guys to help, or get an independent shop to do it. No way a lift should cost you more than $1000 including installation unless you're jacking it up to the moon. The rigs I have with 2-3" of lift only cost me a few hundred bucks total.
Look at Toyo Open Country At 2 got a set 31-10.5-15 for the kids xj from Treaddepot.com good prices and will ship to you or your installer
