I figured since the other thread started out as talking about making a club, and what clubs are available, we should have a thread that's just dedicated to setting up trail runs.

The title says it all, and it'll be less cluttered.

So, the 9/18/10 Run to Potato Ridge was a success!

Next item on the schedule is Logandale on 10/23/10 according to McRoberts. Seems like we have a few interested parties! Who all is planning to attend?

If there is anything in the meantime, or someone local wants another rig to ride with them, just post up and see if anyone is available!

Andy!!!! you DO NOT want this one!!!! Trust me!!! LOL Only thing this truck had going for it was the sound of the motor. Beyond that, I'd have nominated it for easily top 3 most haggard linked truck in Vegas and easily into the top 10 overall haggard built trucks in the vegas valley!

.30-06 I believe. Cool gun for sure though. Have fun cleaning that B Marn. I have the British version.
Are they actually the same or similar? I know some of the American made ones were chambered in 303 but I'm not sure if its even close to the same gun. I think thy are just both called enfields?

Khris, looks like you got some competition. Not only am I sure that it is built as well if not better (I mean, look at the bald mismatched tires) but this guy clearly has way more class and taste, check out those rims!!!!

Yes sir, front and rear...

And for the record, if you're calling me fat...

Motortrend... '91 ford exploder curb weight... 4233lbs

http://www.motortrend.com/classic/roadtests/9108_1991_ford_explorer_test/viewall.html

And I just pulled a random year outta the air...

'09 JK rubicon 4 door (figure its the comparable, 4 door, locked front and rear)

Curb weight 4419lbs

http://www.edmunds.com/jeep/wrangler/2009/features-specs.html?style=101085337

Some other comparables...

Jeep / Exploder

Wheel Base 116" / 112"
Track Width 62" / 58" (mine is +8 up front though)

Ground Clearance 10" / 6" (granted none of ours are stock, and I wonder where this is measured cause my underneath is flatter then TJ's for sure, never compared parked next to a JK, I'm guessing this is at the rear dif though since stock exploders came with like a 28" tire vs. JK on a 33". I know a few on here will vouch I'm probably winning the underside clearance battle, even if you're rocking a flat skidplate system, but I lack it at the body rocker area in comparison to jeeps.)

Length 184" / 184"
HP 202 / 155 (Mine is gutless but damn, have you driven the old JK's? They're gutless too, I really question that 202 number!)
TQ 237@4000rpm / 220@2400rpm

IMO, my $9,000ish Exploder by the stats may sit a little lower off the showroom floor but I think you owe me an apology for insinuating that I'm fat! LOL I'll take it over the cost of a 4 door JK rubicon! LOL

Kinda interesting how close a lot of those numbers are!
All interesting facts, but I was comparing your Exploder to the majority (if not the only) rigs that have committed to that run thus far; NONE of which are JKU Rubicons or even JKU's.

FWIW, I wasn't calling you fat either, just sayin' your rig ain't exactly slim by comparison to the folks on that run.

Ahhhh, well hopefully I won't need much help. I'm hoping to take mine out Friday night though for a quick shake down run just to see if anything goofy is going on. I know most don't have much faith in what I've built but we'll see... Solid axles just seem so boring to me to spend time on! LOL

And Marn, is that here in town? If so, I wonder if he'd want to straight across trade?

Yeah I just took the pic.

Como se dice 'straight across trade' en espanol? Straighto acrosso trade?

Better buff up on yur Spanish! The rims alone will be wort the effort

Soooo pissed just installed my second eBay ac compressor kit and the clutch squeals like a pig just like the first one pisses me off! I have 13 volts at the clutch so I know its getting enough power. I hate this jeep.
Try running a direct power wire to the clutch solenoid on the compressor. You can have 13v all day but if there is not enough current to bump the clutch it will never go. Either that or you can put a simulated load and an amp meter on the electrical circuit. It might be that the harness has a pinched wire and is holding on just enough to give you voltage, but not enough for current to pass through.

either that or you could just have another bad compressor.

Also it it the clutch squealing or the belt? if it is the belt you might make sure that the tensioner spring on your belt is holding enough pressure on the belt.

It was missing two very important things for me to even consider it. It has to be 4WD and it has to be extended cab.

Does anyone remotely have the possibility/ability to join us on the rubicon next month? My dad is making noises like he is trying to back out on me. The wiffle doesn't want the babies on the trail, so she won't go. Anyone?
