What's Your Gas Milage and Tire Size?

Just out of curiosity, I'd like to see what the most common milage is and how much of a difference tire size is making on different jeeps.

Feel free to list any engine or gearing mods you have done.

I'll start it off. I have a 2006 Rubicon, 4 speed auto on 265/75 (31.9") and I'm averaging about 15-15.5 city, 16-17 hwy.

My 06 Rubie on 33s with 4 inch lift gets 15 mixed. I have seen lows of 13 and highs of 17 plus. I do not drive fast, 55 to 60 is about it. I had a JK Sport before this TJ and it might have gotten another 0.5 MPG on the same mixed cycle but it was only lifted 2 inches and had 30 inch tires.

Thanks for the replies so far! Keep 'em coming. This is good stuff. Here's what I've gathered so far, with a maximum of 19mpg and low of 10mpg seen. I left the 19mpg out because of it not being average driving.

I will update as the thread goes along.

To fill in your chart a little bit I have a 6 speed manual transmission for the 05 lj rubicon. .. and those calculations were for all last year with a hardtop on.. my new calculations are in for the lighter soft top with a mix of no doors driving and no windows (summer mode) and im surprisingly around 15.1 mpg mixed

33x10.50 BFG MT/KM2's
3.73 gears
~16.5 mixed driving, which is normally very short trips or 20+ miles at ~75MPH.

Same Jeep got 18, same driving pattern, on 31x1050 BFG AT/KO's.

I can't believe the moderators let this crap go on this far without moving it to the dead zone called GD.This NON TECH subject has been covered 362,574 times plus 1.:wrongforum:

I really don't see how you would'nt think this falls into the tech category. I'm sure if the definition of technical was looked up in the dictionary, anyone would have to agree that it fits in just fine.

I think this is very informative information and the worst thing that this thread contains are "Fillers" which you placed in here, and now me unfortunately, but from what I read, "Fillers" are written down as being frowned upon on JF.

Edit: if you haven't already spooked future posters on here, please refrain from placing "fillers" in the thread, so people who do find it interesting can scroll through without seeing junk. If moderators do find it useless then so be it, but until then, please creep somewhere else.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
