I bought a 2008 diesel and after 35,000km I'm on my third major repair that I was unable to drive my vehicle. The swirl motor is now gone and it's sitting in the driveway awaiting the $4000 needed to fix it. After that I'm selling and buying a Honda.....I love it when it's running but how can anyone have a vehicle they can't depend on?

Search for swirl motor resistor mod. Its about a $2 fix for your swirl motor problem

one post and a complaint to the wrong forum? sounds like a troll.

Swirl motor is a well known issue on this engine, wether it's sitting inside a Merc engine bay or a Jeep. As mentioned there is a relatively cheap fix for it, and there are cheaper-than-OEM-fixes to the problem that make the issue a non-issue altogether. Probably 95% of all WKs sold here are CRDs, and I never really have heard too much bad about them. Every vehicle has their issues, no matter which brand or model you buy.

Go troll someplace else :D

If I had the bucks, I would make an offer. I too went through the swirl motor debacle but survived and love my CRD. I bought the GDE tune. Kissed my swirl good bye.

I love my 08 CRD! GDE HOT Tune and all. 10.1L/100km, over 800km on a fill up, and GOBS of power!

What's up with this OP? BTW just curious why is this the wrong forum? It is a WK CRD after all.

Although not as reliable as other cars/SUVs I've owned, I love my WK CRD and wish I can drive one for the rest of my life.

So far here is what I've had go bad on it
(1) Alternator
(2) Two windshield washer pumps (they are expensive)
(3) COFV valve on Cp3 pump
(4) Thermostat
