I have a 96 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2L V8 4x4 and im doing intake gaskets. When I took the intake off there is a blockoff plate for the egr. Was it there from the factory or did someone put it there? Will it hurt to not have it or? Any info would be great. Thanks
Well ive concluded that its factory because the wiring harness has no electrical connection for the egr and there was no vacuum hose either so 96+ i believe has no egr!!

he must have an early 96 motor. they probably used a leftover 95 intake and just threw the block off plate on there. i saw a 96 dodge truck in the junkyad today with the egr block off plate. probably the same deal
they had lots of leftover 93-95 motors, so a fair chunk of 96's have the egr block off plate.
