Let this thread be an inspiration to all of us doing mods, maintenance, or repairs.

I'll start it off, over the holiday weekend, I did an oil and filter change, fixed a couple rattles, did the front brakes (new rotors and pads), and swapped the brake fluid.

I think its awesome when kids have an opportunity to learn to drive at an early age. I was on the street at 12 (farmers exemption) and already had several years of experience when I got my license at 18.

However

Where's his seat belt??
I was his seat belt. He wasn't going anywhere if we flipped.
He can't reach the peddles yet (just turned 11), so he was on my lap and I was strapped in. In 4low and first gear. I could crawl on all fours faster.

He has been riding quads since 4yo, and has his own two seat buggy. He operates a backhoe like he should be a union member, but I don't trust him not to hit the lawn sprinklers with the riding mower yet.
Maybe if I let him break a few and then have to fix them he will learn quickly.

I picked up a Lawson thread insert (similar to a Time-Sert), installation tool, and 3/4"-16 tap from work today and had my brother/forklift operator come over when he got out of work. We got the engine off the stand and that's when I realized the insert is too deep for the crankshaft flange. :brickwall So back on the stand it went, I covered it with a tarp, and it looks like the weather won't be accommodating till the weekend now. I'll bring a Heli-Coil home then.

You know a couple of them. I have a special order through Besrk as well as a fulfilled wish list through amazon.
Don't forget to fill me in on your Besrk details. :rtft:

I threw up in my mouth a little bit after I zoomed in on that. I sure hope that really isn't what it looks like haha
Straight from the jeep website. Ladies and gentlemen...the Chinese have taken over. How can a company go so far off the reservation in such a short time? Hybrid 2-wheel drive wrangler is next.
