This thread is to serve as an inspiration to others modifying their ZJ's. Pretty simple, just post what you did to your ZJ today!

Today I shamefully took my Jeep to get the oil changed because it was to hot to change it myself.

When your car is practically an extension of you and shows how you are.

Sent from your house.
Well that means I am one crazy mixed up person. I have a primer gray beat to crap '94 mustang, a super shiny (with flames!) '98 Mustang, a unfinished '89 F-150, a torn apart ZJ and a spotless 2008 Explorer. Oh, I also have a roller '65 Mustang tube chassis ex-drag car and a body for a 1939 Fiat Topolino, also an ex drag car.:nuts:

Actually pretty accurate now that I think about it!

Finally fixed the annoying "Coolant Sensor Bad" beep from the VIC in my Jeep with a little help from gcjeeping. It's a lot quieter now!

Also got Princess tagged officially.

Replaced both idler pulleys and the alternator. Also Dropped in an a/c compressor and put in a new belt for the different routing. Previous owner had removed the compressor so there was no refrigerant to drain. Hooked it up, evacuated the system and I'll charge it tomorrow. Hoping for the best, still got plenty done.

Well I thought I would answer something I have searched for but never found an end result or answer. Well I bought my 97 tsi and she of course had a bad vc but found a 242 on ebay , rebuilt it , and slapped it in , btw a wobble extension is perfect for that top passenger bolt. She had the 1,2,1,2,1,2 shifts at low speed , got the bigger solenoids for the 46 ( yes does require a dink in pan to fit , no biggie just put it on sand bag or a few layers of cardboard , stick a 1 inch socket in place and a few good taps and perfect...... Fixed. But my biggie was the shuttering or shuddering on a start in first gear under a good load , I was sure sure it was tranny clutch or tc , because I had beaten and shaken them several times with no give , but decided to change anyway as it takes more torque than I can give to move them ,,,, low and behold hallaluah , even when taking them off they felt fine fine ,,, but it was the problem and she drives great!! Hope this can help some one as we all try to help but so often we find a fix and forget to mention what it was

She was running really cold , so on my lunch I played with the rad cap and upper hose , burped her now she runs right before 210 like before , I'm guessing my Tstat is on the way out. Always something on the ZJ

I changed out some very poorly tinted windows for a full set of privacy glass I got from the JY for $20.
It cost me more for the urethane to put in the back 3 windows than it did for the glass....

I too got the privacy glass from the JY, paid a bit more, but I got the entire rear hatch from a '96 with the flipper rear window. The hatch is rust free and even the same color!
Do you have any pics of the cleaned window seal? The old urethane sealer and seal all looks the same! I don't want to cut anything I'm not supposed to!! Or did you use a chemical to remove it?

Do yourself a favor and replace the receiver drier as well. With the system being opened up that long, chances are the dessicant in there is saturated with moisture and other gunk.

Use sharp razor blades in a good handle to trim the old urethane, as well as to remove your existing glass.
Cut from the inside and cut as close to the pinch welds as possible.
Plan on at least an hour to cut out and prep each window opening....
The windows have a rubber molding around them. If you look carefully you can see the difference between the urethane and the rubber. The urethane cuts easier than the rubber, too.
If you happen to nick/slice the rubber, it's no big deal, you'll have urethane squishing around to seal it when it's re-installed.
I also bought a lift glass hatch w/privacy glass, not rust free:( , but whole. I swapped my hatch out, so I could use the hatch glass from mine on my wife's ZJ
I removed the privacy glass from my fixed glass hatch and transferred it to my wife's hatch.
Use about a 1/4" to 5/16" bead of urethane, centered where the old line of urethane is.
Good Luck!
