Black 05 Rubi, she has got silver wheels.

I am toying with the thought on painting the wheels black.

Wheels need to be black.

So what is the procedure to paint the Moab wheels black?

You see what I mean.

Yup. I painted mine with engine enamel from Auto Zone, and it's held up great over the past three years. It's only needed a few touch ups here and there.

EDIT: Scuff with a Scotch-Brite pad, then fine grit sandpaper in the nooks and crannies. Wash with some Simple Green. Take some note cards and stuff them around the edge of the wheel, and stick them together with masking tape once they're in place. Three coats of primer, then three coats of paint and your done.

Really easy... scuff them up, wash them really well, and paint. I actually prefer to use Krylon Dual Satin Black. It's primer + paint in one, so no need to prime before. I've had good luck with it on two sets of wheels now, it's pretty durable, and touch ups are super easy!

decent view of my spare here...
