So I decided to start a build thread just for fun. It's not much of a "build" but at least I can track my progress and get some pointers along the way. This is the first vehicle ive ever worked on so please be easy on the harsh comments as I'm NOT a mechanic in any way.

First off I have a 2004 Limited that I bought with 82,000 miles. It had a 3" IRO lift. The only other thing that wasn't stock was the 17" rims that were black with a machined lip.. I didn't care for them very much so I changed them. since then I have changed several things and I did have pictures of everything but no longer have all of them(decided to upgrade my iPhone and lost all of my pictures) As of today I now have just under 89,000 miles with an IRO 6.5" lift. I will take more pictures of everything and post them when I can.

Also I just bought another WJ recently for my wife and hers will be mostly stock.. but I am going to track her progress on here too.

My Wife's is a 2004 Laredo that we bought with 83,000 miles and was 100% stock. We have only had it a couple weeks and the only mod is tinted tail lights.

Ya be happy. Ours have face shields (that fog up so easily) so we don't get spit on or anything else..
Or that you can't spit out of. Lol. I Dip, that would drive me insane.

Looks like you weren't following the rules.. Train as you play! Ha ha just messing..

Ya the riot face shields suck. Especially if you have to take someone down. You end up looking down while your putting on cuffs or something and the bottom of the mask goes to your chest causing it to instantly fog cause of no airflow. Then you can't see your cuffs lol

lol 12 hours?! I'm headquarters so it's 24 hour ops all the time!
Lol, wear it for 12 hours in the middle of Iraq in the summer when it's 150 million degrees, that sucks too

Yea I had to run the APFT 2 mile in full hazmat gear and a 40 pound ruck plus my M4. That sucked.

Yeah. Me either.

Got a flight coming up I gotta wear my AERPS gear for training. Why I couldn't do it in the winter, I'll never know.
lol the military always has you do things when it's most convenient for them. I was in a chem suit in ft benning in July once... never again

Do you remember where you connected your CB power wire? It was late, so I never finished that part of the install. I haven't looked through my fuse block for a location yet, just thought I would ask if you had could remember where yours ended up.

I used one of these (in pic below) in place of an existing fuse. I can't remember which exact fuse I used. you can either use one that has constant voltage or one that will only have power with the vehicle on. IIRC, I used one that only had power with the jeep on.

edit: can't post the pic for some reason :s

Thanks for the text. That fuse wiring contraption is a thing of magic...I will be using these in the future!

I mounted it in the cubby hole between the heated seat buttons/power outlets. it fit perfect! I do have pics but the forum isn't letting me post pictures right now for some reason

edit: pics are on the first or second page of the build
