I just got a 2000 jeep grand cherokee Laredo 6cylinder. My oil pan has a leak from the exhaust rubbing it. I got a new pan an gonna change it at home.what other stuff do I need besides tools an pan?
A new gasket, and be sure to scrape as much of the old gasket off as possible. My factory gasket came off in hundreds of pieces no larger than a dime. Worth it if you want it to seal well.
You might want to move. (Or pay someone to move) the exhaust to prevent that from happening again. Exhaust should not be touching the oil pan.
There are products available to soften the old gasket and make it easier to remove.
