Has anybody ever seen the angry eyebrow headlights? How do you do it? Is there a kit or something that I can buy? I've never seen it up close to tell how people do it but I think it looks tough.

It's not so much the 'mod' (how the hell some black tape or a quick spray of some tint qualifies as a 'mod' is beyond me,) it's the attempted justification for doing it.

Or maybe it's just me, but anthropomorphizing vehicles just seems silly. First it was scrotums for the rear, now it's eyelids for the front. The only time tape is acceptable on headlights is while track racing, to keep your busted headlights from littering glass everywhere.

Well comparing those truck nuts to angry eyes imho is not exactly the same. Angry eyes are not vulgar or offensive. Im not really trying to justify the "mod" just saying i did way the negative effects and like i said i did try it with black tape to see if it would make a huge difference in light output and my jeeps light are actually pretty good just as good as my 05 civic with silverstar headlights

Before i get flamed.... My little girls loves Dora The Explorer & Cars. my jeep is usually getting worked on its not DD status yet. i have slyvianas on till i get my rampage ones. so its fun for us to have the "eyes" on it. (plus im a honeybadger and really dont care)

Does is effect the light output ? Yes, with such poor factory lighting its prob not best to make a bad thing worse.

When you have a hard time seeing at night do you want to reduce any of the usable light ? i wouldn't

Do aftermarket headlamps with eyelids put out more light than stock ? Yes, look up the JPmags review of the different aftermarket options and install the one that suites you best if you are going to continue with this.

Will they be on my new lamps? i dont think so

Can you handle the heat you will get online/@ jeep gatherings when you show off how angry/sad your jeep looks ? if so buy a good flame suite & better lamps/lights and get to VHT/PlastiDiping, also make sure you jeep can keep up w/ the other guys offroad so they dont refer to you as the "stuck jeep with sad panda eyes" but say damn lets try to follow the badass jeep w/ angry eyes

just my .03cents

Call it what you want. It reduces light output obviously.

By the way lifting your jeep raises the center of gravity and makes it more susceptible to flipping it over, as does adding an antirock offroad swaybar. My ORO litedot tailights are not as visible during the day as some other tailight options either. All of these things make my jeep pretty damn unsafe so watch out if you are in the SW FL region.

Here's my other vehicles with unsafe light and suspension mods..

EDIT: 20% tint on windshield and 5% on the rest of the windows on the X.

You lift your Jeep to put bigger wider tires on so lifting your Jeep does raised the Center of gravity but That's Why you put on wider tires nice try though.

I just did mine a couple weeks ago. Add me to the "Stupid 17 year old" category (although I'm 35) plus my kids really like it. I used plastidip and did about the same area as SSquier92. I have stock lights and do not notice any significant effect on light output. Angry eyes will however make your lights a lot less bright than those d-bags with the fancy blue bulbs that like to blind everyone coming the other way at night. Honestly, if you cant see to drive safely at night with stock lights - you shouldn't be on the road in the first place.

Reading through this thread. Im starting to realize that a lot of us Jeep owners are in fact ****** bags! Looking down on others simply because of their headlights. What kind " elitists " do you think you are. LMAO...i love all Jeeps, nice, rusted, lifted, stock. It makes no matter. Yet some of you look down your nose and think other are idiots for something so trivial. Amazing to me. So while you are driving down the road thinking somebody is a idiot for their headlight, tires, roll bar, bumper. Take the time to stfu. Then you can get all butt sore the next a JK doesn't wave at you too huh? Grow up kids and adults alike.

To be clear i will not be doing this because i do agree with you guys on the safety.

Just because we think what we want and express it, doesn't make us ****** bags. If people do something stupid, I'm going to call them an idiot. Angry eyes are right up there with spoilers on FWD cars and fart cannons. It's pointless and moronic. But to each his own, some people think lifted jeeps are stupid. But they're idiots as well.

I think we can all let this thread die now.

I love the direction this thread went.

When I was a teenager my dad and I were in a corvette club with a few too many members telling everyone else how they should build their cars. Fart can honda's used to make me laugh until I saw one go 10 secs in the quarter, then crewed for a guy whose wife's 1.3 liter honda went 150 @ El Mirage and his went 230mph. Advertise for a drink company on my personal ride? No, but the monster logo looks pretty cool. I've been told my 4cyl square headlight jeep is slow, and it is but it suits my needs. Been told my IH is ugly, and from a pure aesthetics standpoint it is but I like the way it looks/runs and it works for me. I had a stinger on my vw squareback, loud/obnoxious as hell but fun at the time. (tho some thought it was stupid.)

The op wanted to know "how" not "if I should".

I don't have any interest in doing this to any of my rides but if I were I'd use black tape to get the angle you like then use high temp paint although it may not me needed. Experiment, you can always change it. Maybe try it the same color as your jeep, kind of the old school euro look. (it's been 20 something years, about time for that fad to come back around) It's your jeep, have fun with it!

Good Wheelin' to ya in whatever form it takes,

Cherokid.

PS. If it make a guy feel good to have a large sack swinging behind his big rear end on his big truck ... ? :dunno:
