I figured since the other thread started out as talking about making a club, and what clubs are available, we should have a thread that's just dedicated to setting up trail runs.
The title says it all, and it'll be less cluttered.
So, the 9/18/10 Run to Potato Ridge was a success!
Next item on the schedule is Logandale on 10/23/10 according to McRoberts. Seems like we have a few interested parties! Who all is planning to attend?
If there is anything in the meantime, or someone local wants another rig to ride with them, just post up and see if anyone is available!
LOL, I'm bypassing Sentinel and going straight to the machine shop. I'd probably ask for something like that too honestly. Or get him to machine something random in one.
That's what I mean, see if he will make US a deal straight from your machine dude. Notice I include myself in there!! :shhh:
Quit posting those pictures dangit!!!! I've been eyeballing Pistol's TT he has for sale for 100K, but I keep reminding myself that anyone can buy a truck.....prepping and maintaining it is a whole other ball game.....AND NO I have nowhere near 100K LOL!!
So i got a email from Discount tire they found 4 pro comp rims with the 3.75 BS in FL and can get them here next week. and then i would have to wait for the 5th when 4wheelparts gets there backorder in mid may. For the 5 rims, mounted and balanced its 280 after tax.
If I picked up those GC rims for 50 and swaped them out for Khris's that are 4.5 BS and dismount and mount my tires onto them ($60) and then ordered wheel spacers from Rough country 120 plus shipping im at 230 plus gas.
so pretty much if i go though Discount i get a rim for 50 bucks extra (that i need)
So thanks for the offer guys thats way cool but its just easier to do it though Discount tire
No worries, they'll probably be in the driveway till may'ish sometime when they roll away with the rest of the heep.
Garza, you're thinking too small, BJ's TT is forsale too, pick it up!
And as much as I'd like to hook you guys up, I don't really think he's looking to give a ton of deals out the back of the shop type of thing. Right now I believe they only have one functioning prototype lower of their new style and they're still going to be making changes to it also. They've got a forged upper right now but he's going to be doing a machined one which is what he asked me if I'd be interested in drawing up for him.
You can still do the SYE but your Jeep would be a pavement queen until the shafts are built. Just drive her in 4hi which is what I would assume you are doing now?
Ohhhh, Andy!!! I just came up with my requirement for your truck! I will only participate in the build if you promise to run a camper shell for total sleeper status!!! Cause linked and stock looking is kinda cool.

You are about three steps behind the power curve. I decided that I was going to run a camper shell a while back! Even if I didn't run it every day, I was going to run it for camping trips.

Okay, we'll give it a shot... Anyone interested, noon at this spot. Should be obvious. Black chevy, car trailer, green race truck if it's not there Merricks jeep and Garza's jeep will possibly be there also if they're not out screwing off too. Either way, if the truck isn't there, hang out, it'll be back soon and I doubt there'll be many others there. Typically most people stage in the lake bed. Mostly just race testing stages from here.
Pretty much can guarentee some rides for anyone that shows up as long as the truck is running good. I'll have a helmet with me. Bring drinks, kids or adult beverages (I obviously won't be drinking but I won't tell you you can't...), guns if you want to shoot around the corner from where we're staged, jeeps if you want to take off on a spur of the moment run, whatever. Don't be shy, cruise out and say hello and get a ride probably if interested.

Have a great time! Wish I could make it but thanks to Andy stopping by this evening and letting me run some ideas by him, I am gonna be pullin a Khris and wrenchin instead of playin.
BTW, anyone that's like me and tries to live in Sandals, if you come tomorrow make sure you bring some shoes for in the truck. Other then that, I've got a spare xl helmet and also a pair of gloves never hurts to wear either honestly. It's not very luxurious in the cab and lots of metal...

If you say so... I don't remember ever buying a car without carpet, headliner, door panels, plastic paneling oh and with tubes everywhere around you. Can't vouch that EVERY sharp edge in the cab is deburred... I tried but I'm sure there's one somewhere waiting to draw blood sooner or later. Just saying, some might not exactly know what they're signing up for so just saying...
I would request some more upclose pictures before you drive down there. Esp around the cylinders on the block. It looks like there is some major pitting on cylinder 6 of that second picture. While the head gasket will fill in some of the pitting, I would be worried about the longevity of it. The pitting is not only around the cylinder wall, but it is also around the oil drain and water jacket.
Do a search and see what dodge recommends as a pitting tolerance. I would also call a few reputable machine shops and get some input from them. I understand that cast iron block will have some imperfections, but that look more like corrosion from a blown head gasket or a good overheating.
