I have the 5.2 249 t case 33s 3.73 gears I don't think the trailer has brakes. It's a 17 footer 4 cyl.
Bow rider.

The trans lines go to the radiator

Is there anything I have to do?

Dude, defeat to 4.56s and your zj will pull so much easier.

Yes, the overdrive is weak and can get burned out easily. Light on means O.D. is off. That light is also the transmission overheat warning light. When the transmission gets too hot it automatically turns off the O.D. until it cools off so you won't know if it's getting too hot or not but since it's downhill you should be more worried about the brakes. I overheated my trans going uphill and I had the O.D. off. The white smoke from the ATF-4 spewing out let me know something was wrong.

going downhill will suck on your stock brakes.

also, don't 'dawg' the jeep when you are pulling. let the motor purr and rev when it wants to hold hills. low RPM and 'bogging down' will kill a tranny fast (creates a lot of heat) let the motor work and hopefully IT doesn't over heat lol.

P.S. The more important question is what do you know about boating? How do you handle crossing situations? Reading buoys? There are too many clueless idiots on the water these days. Don't be one of them. Take a boating course. Or at the very least pick up a copy of Chapmans Piloting and READ IT. Cheers!
Plus one on that one. I come from a boating family and before I could even touch the steering wheel when I was 15 (that's the earliest legal boating age in Indiana with a permit) I took a Coast Guard approved course. I feel like that should be something everybody does. Im only 17 now, and I hate to say that I know more about boat driving and courtesy than probably most of the people at the lakes my family goes to, just because most people just don't take the time to learn.
