Here is the Savvy LJ Test mule as it currently sits. Just needs a TT and some LEDs tail lights and it will be trail ready.

This Jeep was displayed at the King of the Hammers and was praised a lot. Sorry I don't have any before pictures as it was a theft recovery that was completely stock. We use it to prototype the TJ/LJ parts. I'll update this post with all of the current mods.

That rig looks great. I'm looking forward to checking it out when I pick up my rear bumper. Then I'll need to finish up my build when I get back from the TdF.

That will make 3 Savvy rigs in the group! Plus, I gotta get Todd hooked up with Gerald so he can apply some more Savvy'ness to your old rig

Hey Justin,

I know you've been involved with this build from the start and my comment was more for those who haven't seen it yet. When I first saw it, any ideas I had about trying to negotiate a lower price from Gerald went out the window. I just said, "I'll take it". I suck at poker too.

I haven't updated this thread in a long time. So here's what I've done since I got it.

I started with Blaine's PSC Hydro Assist. Here's a few shots of the reservior

The gear box

A view from the front

Then we added the Savvy Half doors. I wanted to keep these on during the Summer so Blaine installed some mirrors.

Finally got around to swapping the rear Fox shocks, 241, Trans cooler and gauge.
We had to cut out the rear towers and replace them because the other ones were too short to work with the Fox shocks. Not a bad welding job. :2thumbsup:

This is what Blaine came up with to mount the reservoir

Here is a shot of the trans cooler. Nicely done. This sucker is pretty powerful. You can actually feel it in your seat when the fan comes on.

Then we added the 241. It's bigger than I remembered.

We had to clearence a few areas of the UA to get the 241 to fit just right. The last one was the rear crossmember. Blaine welded this piece on to keep it nice and tight.

Then we added the Autometer Automatic Temperature Gauge

I also got a center console, from Blaine, that I can finally install my Kicker Subwoofer into. I got the interior paint from the dealer so it will match everything else.

The front Currie Hi9 will be sold in May or June. I've already ordered a RJ 60 with a detroit locker, F-450 outers and 5.38 gears. When we do the swap, I'm also going to have Blaine 3 link the front, install the front Fox shocks, finish off the steering/brakes and regear the rear to match. Like I said, that should be around June so I'll update again after we complete that stage. :D

Brought the Jeep to Blaine's on Tuesday.

Got the front axle out and some of the old brackets cut off. We got the links for the front 3 link and the rear 4 link. Waiting on the new axle, suspension brackets and JJ's.

Here's a picture of Joe Dillard cutting a control arm bracket off.

Front axle out and ready for paint.

Back of the Jeep is collecting parts.

We should get a lot done this week. RJ 60 will be ready Monday or Tuesday, by then we should have everything we need to complete Blaine's mid arm front and rear, mold the outboard shock towers in, and install the shocks. Then we will work on the brakes and steering.

I can't tell you what a privilege it is to have Blaine and Joe work on my Jeep. It's been a great learning experience. :D

How did you go about cutting out the rear mounts?
Did you cut the whole mount out along the welds and start back over from scratch?

Yep, just used the cut-off disc on a grinder and zipped them out of the frame, added in some new pieces of frame to make the hole smaller, cut in the new mount and blended it all in.

whats the best route for cutting into the frame for out boarding setup cutoff wheel on a grinder sawzall torch? i might like to try it if i don't need a torch and then have someone weld em up for me until i get a lincon 225 and get decent beads.
