I just bought a 94 wrangler and the first time I started it it ran fine showed it off and it wouldn't start back up. So I tested the crankshaft position sensor and found it to be bad I ordered a new one put it in and the truck started up perfect. Then I shut it down and it won't start back up again is this a normal occurrence?
Like OKwranglerYJ stated, the problem is not your Crank Position Sensor (And NO, this is not normal). Your problem is with the Camshaft Sensor which is located in the distributer. It is possible to replace this sensor alone, but it would be more beneficial to replace the entire distributer with a rebuilt assembly. Last time I had to do so, NAPA had one for around $90.
Yes, it did fix the problem. Thank you very much! The part was a nightmare to get the correct one it was Wells CR142.
Thanks guys!
